The tub faucet no longer leaks but the plumber charged us for the time he was looking for a washer for the faucet. He was gone over 2 hours. We could have had a new faucet for less than what he charged us for the time he was looking for the washer.
The sink stopper now lifts but the sink doesn't drain for some reason. I would have thought the plumber would have checked to see if the water would drain from that sink.
BACKGROUND: My HVAC system is less than 2years old and decided to fail oneday. The symptoms were a frozen coils in the airhandler unit, low temperature output on the vent and HAVC system taking 4-5 minutes to startup. Being an electrical engineer, I pulled out my multimeter and decided to troubleshoot/diagnose my problem. I determined that I had a blown dual run capacitor on my outdoor fan/compressor. I replaced that capacitor. Unit now turns on immediately (6 seconds time delay) but I am still having the other issue. I test my blower fan, blower fan control unit, blower fan run capacitor, filter and a plugged/dirty coil but all my readings/inspection came back negative. Therefore, my only guess was a low refrigerant and like a good home owner, I had to call in a license professional to tackle this issue.
PROs (+)
1) the only company in Lawton that was able to service my HVAC system the same day. All other company either refused or wouldn't make the service call until next week.
2) Courtesey Phone Call to let you know that the service technican is in route to your house
3) A very professional call/service center/office with friendly staff members. Originally I thought WSM was a national brand and didn't know it was family own/small business cuz they were THAT PROFESSIONAL on the phone
4) Equipment, uniform and company vehicles looks very professional. Again, I thought this company was a national brand
5) Offer Club discount that gives you 15% off any service/job for a low cost of $20 a year
6) Technician is very friendly, professional and knowledgable
7) Technician is very honest (let me explain). My house is less than 2yrs old. I am the first owner of this house. My HVAC system failed and the technican told me that I should contact the contractor that install my HVAC to inquirer about the warranty instead. My home builder has a bad reputation within our development and use cheap/low budget contractor to build our homes. Therefore, it was always painful to get warranty work done. As a result, I decided to not deal with the drama and just give my business to WSM (and also reward them for their honesty).
CONs (-)
1) I thought the price was a little excessive ($431 without club membership). WSM charged me $70 for the cleaning service, $53 for install the dye leak, $73 to install the the 1st lbs of R410A and $245 (@47 per lbs) to refill my entire system with R410.
2) Since my system was less than 2 yrs old and I am always conduct preventative maintenance on all of my equipment, my HVAC system wasn't dirty but I wanted to leave the cleaning servive to the pro. The technician only cleaned out my outdoor coils and did not touch my coils in my indoor unit. when cleaning the outdoor coils, he did not use any cleaning solvent (not sure if it is applicable). Unfortunately, he didn't do a good job because there were still grass/dirt residue on the bottom edges of my coil (about 4-6 inches of debris on each side). This might be insignificant but the bottom lips has drain holes and the dirt might prevent water from dripping away from the unit. nevertheless, I expected a more thorough cleaning service.
3) The technician cut through the insulation material protecting my refrigerant line while coducting this service. However, he never rewrapped the insulation material. This might be pitty or insignifcant but stuff like this is important to me because the small stuff like this is what seperates a good company from an excellent company. This is an quality control/quality assurance when it comes to their workmanship. Lastly, the foam isolation is there to protect the freon line so it must be important right?
Oveall recomendation: If you are not concern with prices/money and just want your HVAC system fixed then go with WSM because you can trust their work. However, if you are on a budget and wants to get the most of your bucks then you need to shop around.
I hope this review helps. I think my review is very objective (and not subjective), fair and impartial. I gave WSM high marks on areas that they deserve credit on but at the same time gave them a decent/okay grade on areas where I thought they can improve.
I do have pictures of the dirty coils and the foam insulation insulation upon request.
The technicians that actually did the work were very professional and polite young men. (unlike some work crews -even with the best companies.)
Company representative made an appointment for a time that was convenient to me and showed me several options to upgrade to a new heating system.
Installers arrived at the agreed upon time, installed the system, tested the system, and tested the system. Everything was great. Installers were professional and courteous, They showed me what they had done before leaving and how to change the filter in the new system and checked to determine if I had any questions--I had none. The installers told me to give them a call if any problems occurred. They departed about 4 pm. About 5pm I decided to check the Air Conditioning system since the cold snap was only going to last for a few days.
The Air Conditioning system did not come on. I called and the technician was back to our hose within 45 minutes and repaired a spliced wire that had broken. The technician was gracious and seemed pleased that the issue was fixed.
Overall experience and was great and I'll use WSM again.
WSM then showed us our options to fix things. They were very informative, answered all our questions, and at no time pressured us in any way. We decided to replace the furnace and air conditioning systems based on the energy audit and their guarantee that the end result would be an efficient heating/cooling system that would meet or exceed AEP/PSO Energy Star standards. This was important because failure to meet the standards would mean we would not qualify for AEP/PSO rebates. We also chose to add insulation to the attic, and WSM made it happen.
The work took about a week and was minimally disruptive to us. The work crews showed up on time and kept their work areas clean. Any questions we had during the installation were promptly and completely answered.
After installation was complete, WSM ran a final energy audit during which remaining leaks in the exterior of the house were found and fixed on the spot. It's important to note that the results of the final audit were witnessed and certified by an independent Energy Star company. That company was hired by AEP/PSO to ensure that the end result was indeed a system and home that met their Energy Star standards, and qualified us for the rebates.
The end result: The house in general is more comfortable. The hot and cold spots we used to have are gone. Even when it was 110 degrees outside, the air conditioning had no difficulty in cooling the house... and it did not have to run all the time to do it. Our electricity bills are averaging 25-30% lower than the same time last year. An added benefit we did not expect is that the house is quieter; we hardly hear outside noises anymore - probably because sealing up the air leaks in the house also sealed up the places noise could get in.
We definitely recommend Wichita Snider Mechanical.
