"Stephen and his crew did a great job rebuilding my deck. It was a big job due to its size, but they built a very solid deck and did everything I wanted. He also made sure some damage around my house due to water problems got fixed. I have recommended him to several friends."

Small jobs welcome

"I contacted Home Advisers looking for a company that could clear some land. I had just acquired. 17 1/2 acres of land that most people would pass up, a ravine to be precise , I wanted a retirement home.that was secluded and one with nature. It was completely overgrown with anything that would grow. John Allen from Boss Equipment contacted me. I met him on the property and kinda explained what I was doing and was hoping to accomplish. First stage came and John met me back on the property. Transformation of a pig to a horse as it was still an animal but showed a little grace. We selected a spot for the Home and garage and John and his crew went back to work. This horse is now a unicorn. Ità ¢à  à  s a one of a kind home site. Ità ¢à  à  s a rare find and the incredible work performed by John and his crew will take me through the rest of my life to the next. John Allen started out as a guy I hired to do some work and has become a friend in the process. John always kept me informed and sent photos of the progress along the way. Although this was not a fast process due to weather, power, water and septic I am impressed at John ability to get things done at each stage. Do I recommend John? Yes I do. I canà ¢à  à  t say enough good things about Him and his crew."

"Very professional. Derrick and his crew did an amazing job with my fencing project. Derrick has had experience owning and training horses and understands the type of fencing needed to safely secure those animals. He and his crew are honest friendly people who are pleasant to work with."

Excavating questions, answered by experts

You can dig 60 to 80 linear feet by hand per day depending on the depth. Digging a 100-foot trench by hand will take you two work days, but it can take longer if you have heavy or rocky soil. If you’re digging a deep trench or one that’s over 100 feet, consider renting a mechanical trencher, such as a walk-behind or ride-on, or calling a pro for help.

Above ground pools are not buried in the ground. Typically, above ground pools are semi-permanent. One reason they’re more affordable is that you don’t have to dig for an inground pool and pour concrete or another material. However, you can choose to install a semi inground pool, which is a hybrid between the two.

If you don’t wish to dig it out and convert it into a finished basement, you can still encapsulate your crawl space to protect it from damage for an average cost of $5,500. Finishing a crawl space beyond this isn’t really worthwhile, as the low ceilings mean you won’t be able to use the area as living space.

Excavation is priced in cubic yards, so you’ll need to find the volume of the area in order to calculate costs. Multiply the length, width, and proposed depth of your excavation site, then convert it into yards to get the volume. Multiply this figure by the price per cubic yard.

Most homeowners can measure by hand to get a rough estimate, even if it’s tedious. You may want to pull out a tape measure or use a string to help mark the area.

To locate an underground downspout, you should start by identifying where the above ground gutter drains. Look for an entry point, such as a pipe or elbow leading into the ground. Follow the surface path for signs like depressions, landscaping disruptions, or wet areas after rain. You can use a metal detector or plumber’s snake to trace the pipe underground. For deeper pipes, a professional locator tool or camera inspection may be necessary. Visual markers or utility maps can also guide the search.
