"I am very happy with the exterior painting job completed by Reese. Communication was well above average and price was reasonable. Always arrived when scheduled and gave attention to detail. Very personable and easy to work with, even made a return trip to install new light trim I purchased. I would definitely use Reese again and have no hesitancy in recommending them."

"The house was already a chaotic mess because we were having the windows replaced at the same time. They showed up on time and had no issue working around the other installers. They were professional and had great personalities, easy to get along with. The flooring gave them some issues so the job took longer than expected, but they still charged the original quoted price. I would definitely use them again!"

"AWESOME! George is wonderful and does excellent work! Not only is he a diligent, methodical, thoughtful, and a detailed problem solver, but he is great at communicating and overseeing the job site. We are out of state and were able to 100% rely on him to keep us informed of progress, as well as keep other contractors on the total remodel honest. He is trustworthy, fair, and has good pricing, too. Hired initially for interior painting, George has gone above and beyond, and helped us with so much more. The initial job was a difficult challenge... cleaning, sealing, prepping, priming, and finally painting a house that was coated with many years of nicotine tar and smoke. What an incredible transformation of this home! He has done a beautiful job restoring this 1950s bungalow. He also repaired sheetrock, retextured and replaced walls and ceilings, removed old electrical fixtures, installed antique lighting and an vintage medicine cabinet, repaired a garage door, did carpentry work on trim, doors, and windows including trimming down and installing new doors and constructing window frames. He thinks ahead to prepare for the job at hand, provides detailed lists of material needed, pick ups supplies, and makes helpful suggestions and recommendations along the way to avoid problems and delays. His son is held to the same high standards and is dedicated, strong, polite, and helpful. Thanks for the great "can-do" attitude, skills, and tremendous customer service!"

Nest Installation questions, answered by experts

Carpet beetles do not bite humans, but their larvae can cause skin irritation that’s often mistaken for bites. These tiny, bristly larvae have barbed hairs that can lead to allergic reactions in sensitive individuals, resulting in red, itchy welts or rashes. While the irritation may resemble bug bites, it’s actually a response to contact with the hairs or shed skins, not an actual bite. Adult carpet beetles are harmless and primarily feed on pollen, but their larvae can damage natural fibers like wool, fur, or leather in carpets, clothing, and upholstery.

While carpet beetles won’t bite you like bed bugs do, they still aren’t pests you’d want to find in your home. Carpet beetles in their larva stage can be voracious and cause a lot of damage as they eat through fabrics on furniture, clothing, bedding, rugs, and other materials. If you see carpet beetles, you’ll want to have an exterminator come by to assess the damage and control the infestation.

Prime mosquito season varies depending on your location. It’s longer in the sweltering southern states and shorter in the cooler, drier northern regions. In places like Florida, it can run from February to November, but in the Pacific Northwest, mosquitoes appear in April and can hang around until the end of October. While the hottest summer months are when they are at peak population, mosquito seasons are extending in many regions because of the increase in annual temperatures.

While keeping any critter away permanently isn’t always possible, you can keep mice away from your home by setting traps, fumigating your space, and sealing known entry points. Once you’ve taken these steps, take time to work on prevention measures, such as clearing out all clutter and recyclables and removing all food sources.

Roof rats get their name because they’re most often found in attics or the area around the attic. They often use tree limbs that hang over a roof to get into a home’s attic and look for shelter. Once inside, they not only like the attic space but can also burrow themselves into soffits or small holes in the ceiling and build their nest.
