"Ricardo and his team at The Perfect Coat were efficient, effective, and professional. We started our renovations a couple weeks before moving to Norman and were a little apprehensive about being remote (we were still living in Phoenix at the time). However, Ricardo put our nerves at ease with his excellent communication. He was committed to delivering our vision. We hired The Perfect Coat to paint the interior of our home as well as to remodel the kitchen. The kitchen remodel included building and painting cabinets, building and installing a custom island, building and installing custom floating shelves, installing a hood vent along with the duct-work, and replacing the existing backsplash. We were amazed with the end result and couldn't be happier with our new home. I really appreciated how The Perfect Coat is a one-stop shop - anything you need, Ricardo and his team can get it done. "They did a fantastic job in power washing and painting my eves, wood trim, patio, garage, front entry way, and back door side garage door front door trim and all. Also did front lights on garage. George ( Owner) said it would take 4 days but finished in 3. Highly recommend him you will not be disappointed. Very happy with the work that was done"

It’s best to use a slightly slower-working paint remover that is safer to use, such as mineral spirits, because the strongest spray paint removers are often also the most toxic. Many of these products contain dangerous chemicals, such as methylene chloride, which the EPA banned for most uses in April 2024 after it was established as a major carcinogen.

Numerous primers on the market will do the job of covering peeling paint. The best primers for peeling paint are bonding or adhesive primers that essentially glue the edges of peeling paint back to the subsurface while providing a smooth, even surface for the new paint coat.

To fix bubbling paint, scrape away any loose or blistered areas using a putty knife. Lightly sand the surface to smooth out rough edges and create a level finish. Clean the area thoroughly to remove dust, dirt, and any residue. Once the surface is clean and dry, apply a quality primer suited to the material you're painting. Finally, repaint the area, making sure to work in proper temperature and humidity conditions to prevent new bubbles from forming.

Technically, mineral spirits are a type of paint thinner, so they can be used for the same purposes. In most cases, pure mineral spirits are preferable to other paint thinners. Still, if necessary, you can successfully use paint thinners for most of the same applications, such as thinning or cleaning oil paints.

If you’re painting your home or monitoring a job as it’s being completed, squash the issue ASAP if you notice paint is getting onto the roof. Keeping it clean is one of the keys to extending your roof’s life.

Removing latex paint before it dries is much easier and lowers the risk of damaging your shingles (more on that below). Simply spray the spot with a hose for one to two minutes to clear away the drying paint. In general, this is a good way to remove ugly stains from your roof without using chemicals.
