These men were very helpful in prep us for the job. They did a temporary hook up so that we would have water at night when we were at home and worked on the wiring and plumbing during the day when we were gone. We experienced little to no inconvenience. We highly recommend them.

Yes, in most cases, you can back out of your offer if you’re unsatisfied with something in the inspection. However, there is usually no recourse for doing so. The only exception would be if you waived the home inspection, a somewhat common practice to get your offer accepted in a highly competitive market. Waiving the home inspection doesn’t prevent you from getting an inspection, but you usually can’t walk away from the home after the inspection if there’s something wrong.

The small lines on the tape measure either indicate inches, fractions of an inch, or centimeters and millimeters. On the imperial unit side (aka the inches side), the longest lines indicate inches, followed by the next shortest lines that indicate a half-inch, and then the quarter, eighth, and sixteenth-inch. On the metric side, the lines break down meters, centimeters, and millimeters.

While some homeowners may feel confident conducting their own roof inspections, hiring a professional roofing inspector is recommended for a safe and accurate assessment. Professional roof inspectors have the knowledge and experience to identify even the smallest signs of damage or potential issues and they can spot problems that may go unnoticed by an untrained eye.

An inspection can take up to an hour, depending on the type of AC system you have. If you need to add more refrigerant, expect an extra 30 to 45 minutes.

You’ll know you have smoke damage if you notice a lingering smoky odor, see soot or residue, or spot any discoloration of surfaces in your home. If you have any kind of house fire, always assume you have smoke damage and hire a professional who deals with smoke damage to assess the extent of the damage and restore your home to its pre-fire condition.
