"They are fantastic. I have used them several times for countertops and also some tile work. I am a contractor myself and I do not usually fill out reviews, however I have been so pleased with the work they have done for me, I thought I would pass that along. Very easy to work with and great eye for detail. Plus they are so easy to work with from concept to completion. Nice clean up after work is completed. Great people and a great company. I highly recommend them. Greg Silvernail"

Countertops and Backsplashes FAQs, answered by experts

Porcelain is a relatively affordable, mid-range countertop material. It typically costs between $50 to $70 per square foot.

Compared to quartz, porcelain is slightly more affordable, as quartz generally ranges from $50 to $200 per square foot. However, lower-quality, builder's grade quartz can be similar in price to porcelain.

Compared to granite, the price can be similar, depending on the quality of the stone. While granite slabs can range from $50 to $200 per square foot, you can find lower-end granite in the same price range as porcelain. High-end granites will cost significantly more.

Porcelain is generally more expensive than laminate, acrylic, and ceramic, but less expensive than high-end slate, concrete, and marble. A key benefit is that porcelain does not require sealing, which reduces long-term maintenance costs.

Yes, you can change the color of concrete countertops multiple times. If you use paint rather than a stain, you can go from dark to light, but if you are only using a stain, you can go from light to dark.

You can put hot pans on porcelain countertops. Porcelain is highly resistant to heat—it’s manufactured at around 2,500 degrees Fahrenheit, so it can withstand a ton of heat without cracking or damaging. Even though the high heat is a plus, you should still be cautious when putting hot surfaces on porcelain countertops.

If the damage is minor, you can repair countertops without replacing them. You can also resurface a laminate countertop rather than replace it when it gets old and dingy. Countertop resurfacing is a relatively easy project, though it can be time-consuming, so you may prefer to hire a pro to do this for you.

Yes, you can put hot pots on concrete countertops, but only if they’ve been properly sealed. While the concrete itself is heat-resistant, the sealant may not be, meaning heat may discolor the sealant, so use caution.
