I have owned my cleaning service business since early 2017. I started cleaning in 2015 getting experience cleaning large commercial buildings. I was inspired to start my own residential cleaning business and have grown a large clientele. I have recently moved locations and I have been looking to add more clients to my schedule.

"I want to share my recent experience with a really fine contractor. I recently contracted with FloorsEliteDFW, headquartered in Southlake. I wanted to expand the oak flooring in my house and I needed repair of existing oak flooring in a long hallway. The owner of Elite Flooring, Kevin Clement, assured me that he could repair the damaged area to look like new and that he could add the additional flooring to an exact match of my existing wood floors. He quoted me a very reasonable price and gave me an accurate start date. His crews were very well supervised, friendly, and clean cut. They were clearly knowledgeable and sealed off the work areas and air conditioning vents with plastic sheeting to eliminate the spread of sawdust residue throughout the house. Kevin was at our home every morning to inspect the progress, answer my questions, and to lead his people. Though he had other jobs under way simultaneously, one of which is an extremely large job in a palatial residence here in Colleyville, we were led to feel like we were his sole customer at that particular time. He was back this morning with one of his crew to rework a bit of caulking because he was not happy with the prior work. This speaks to the high standards that he maintains. Transition strips are often called seam binders as they bridge the gap between two floor types. They are common between carpeting and hardwood or wood and tile. Transition strips prevent trips and falls and make the transition from each room appear seamless. They are also often used to even out height differences between floors.

Steam mopping might be better than regular mopping if you don’t use the right cleaning products or properly rinse or wring out the mop head. However, if you use the right techniques, regular mopping also sanitizes effectively—even if it takes more effort. Plus, you know you can use a regular mop on any flooring—including to clean laminate floors or hardwood, which don’t do well with steam cleaning.

Technically, you can install carpet without padding. While skipping the padding can help you save on the project, it will make the carpet less comfortable and show uneven spots or imperfections in the subfloor. Because carpet padding protects the back of the carpet from wear, a carpet without padding can wear out faster than one with it. Carpet padding also cuts down on noise, so forgoing it can affect the acoustics in the room.

While it may not always be ideal, you can fix a squeaky floorboard without removing the carpet. Pros use specialized carpet screws and drive them through the carpet into the subfloor, securing floorboards. They may also use nails instead of screws if they suspect the pile will get caught in the screw. While some types of carpet will hide the screws and nails, a low-pile carpet may not.

The cost to put wooden flooring in an attic can run a wide range. Carpeting can cost as little as $1 per square foot, or even less if you opt for unfinished flooring types like rubber or painted plywood. On the high end, hardwood floors might cost as much as $45 dollars per square foot. For a previously unused space, you’ll probably need to add a subfloor which usually costs about $5 per square foot.
