"Our repair technician explained everything that was wrong with our AC. A fix was possible but would only be temporary. He recommended a new unit and quoted a price that was very reasonable. Because our old unit had R22 we needed to replace the condenser coils also. This requires a removal of the furnace 1st. The replacement of our 25 year old furnace seemed sensible. On removal they found that the old furnace became detached from the roof vent. It was venting carbon monoxide into our attic space. This installment could have saved our lives. . Thanks The install was perfect and we are very happy"

"DAVID AND HIS CREW WERE EFFICIENT AND PROFESSIONAL. NOT A PIECE OF DISCARDED ROOFING MATERIAL WAS LEFT ON THE GROUND. CLEAN UP WAS 100%.
DAVID KEPT ME POSTED AT ALL TIMES AND GAVE ME A FOLLOW UP CALL AFTER OUR FIRST HARD RAIN TO ASK ABOUT ANY LEAKS, WHICH THERE WERE NONE.

"Tech was right on time and quickly found we had a bad blower motor. They quoted me to replace the motor and had the part on hand. I went ahead and had the motor replaced. They informed me the burners were in bad condition and recommended that we think about replacing the unit.
I was thankful to get the unit up and running and will think about the replacement. I was very happy with the promptness and the care they took to make sure I understood everything they were doing and how it all related to the operation of the system.

"Very well. Mark Broyles did exceptional work on our project. He is reliable, an expert in his job, and is very pleasant. He was always on time, and was really good about working with me on where to install grab bars for the shower, where to install the vanity, etc. We would defintely use Community Builders again. Also, Daniel worked with the project to video tape the process and condense it into a short video. He is also a dedicated worker and exhibits a very pleasant personality."

Install Garbage Disposal questions, answered by experts

Garbage disposals are durable appliances that usually last at least eight years as long as you clean and maintain them. It’s relatively rare for a garbage disposal to break on its own, as most malfunctions happen due to user errors, like overstuffing the grinding compartment or damaging the blades by trying to dispose of metal or bone. Eventually, cracks or leaks could develop in the unit, which requires a full replacement.

The most common garbage disposal size in the U.S. is 1/2 horsepower. This size is ideal for households with three or fewer people or those that don't produce much food waste. Although 1/2 horsepower can't handle the typical food waste load for a household of four (which is about 250 pounds of food waste annually) as effectively as 3/4 horsepower, it remains the most common size of garbage disposal on the market.

There are many maintenance and repair issues that lead to a malfunctioning garbage disposal. Regular clogs place wear and tear on the motors, leading to an eventual shutdown. Electrical issues at the breaker, wall outlet, or disposal itself can fry the unit. The most common cause is simply a worn-down motor. These motors can only handle so much use before powering down for good.

Never put glass in the garbage disposal. It can damage your disposal or eject shards of glass out of the disposal and cause injury. If you get broken glass in your garbage disposal, turn it off and cut the power from the breaker, use a tool like pliers or tongs to remove the glass, and use a wet-dry vacuum to remove the remaining glass pieces. If you can’t access the disposal safely, call a garbage disposal repair pro.

In some cases, it’s more cost-effective in the long run to replace a garbage disposal, but it depends on the specific issue you’re having and the age of your disposal. You should ask a garbage disposal repair tech for a quote to repair your appliance and then see if it would be more worthwhile to replace it. Additionally, garbage disposals last for around 15 years, so if you know your appliance is reaching that age, it’s likely better to pay for a new garbage disposal rather than sink money into repairs.
