"I find Groundworks and all of the employees I encountered or spoke with have a high work ethic and clear, thoughtful, communication. The gentleman that did the initial inspection and measurements of my home, Braden, did a great job explaining the process for leveling and protecting my crawl space. When Braden left, I was comfortable in knowing what I should expect to see when the job is completed. I can’t say enough here about the team that did the hard work at a time when we have triple digit temperatures. Mike and his team, that consisted of Jett, and on a few days an additional hard working young man, were so good at their jobs. At times I observed that they seemed to move like clockwork. My communications with all of the team was good. Mike took time to update me and show images of the work as it progressed. The bottom line is that I highly recommend Groundworks. The company was like a breath of fresh air for me."

"Getting a walk in tub is expensive no matter who you use. My experience thus far is with installation only and I must say my install went great. It has been over a month and no issues with my tub so I cannot comment on repair process with American Standard."

"It was 4:15 PM and I needed a plumber ASAP. The first one I called couldn’t get there until the next morning. My second call was to home advisors who put me in touch with Raindancer Plumbing. He was there with the problem fixed within the hour. Would highly recommend him."

Affordable Plumbers questions, answered by experts

Homeowners insurance often covers water leaks and resulting damage, but coverage depends on the cause. Leaks from sudden and accidental events, like a burst pipe or storm damage to a roof, are typically covered. However, if the leak is due to a lack of maintenance, homeowner negligence, or general wear and tear (such as an old roof failing), the claim will likely be denied. Some causes, like flooding or leaks from faulty appliances, may be excluded from standard policies. After taking steps to stop the leak, contact your insurance company immediately and review your specific plan to understand your coverage.

Plumbers can be held liable for their work for anywhere from a year to six years, depending on where you live, but in most states, premises liability lasts for three to four years. You can contact your state’s licensing board to find out how long your plumber is liable. Your local building department or a consumer protection agency in your area can also confirm the timeline for you.

The best types of piping for underground main water lines are PVC and PEX pipes because of their ability to be buried and withstand high levels of water pressure. PVC and PEX pipes are resistant to rusting and corrosion, which makes them ideal for transporting water. Copper is another efficient type of pipe for underground water lines because of their resistance to rusting and leakage. Again, copper pipes are on the higher end of the price range.

There are few things more annoying than trying to fall asleep only to be woken up by the sound of a dripping faucet. If the faucet drips when the water is off, it probably has a loose or damaged seat washer. The screw gets loose from repeated use, making the faucet drip. With outdoor faucets, this is more common in the summer when people are using it more often to water the garden or cool off. Disassembling the faucet and tightening or replacing the seat washer and screw can get the dripping to stop.

No, a larger well pressure tank will not increase or improve water pressure on its own. The pressure control on the well pump is what determines the water pressure in your home. However, a larger tank does offer other benefits. It can hold more water, allowing you to run it for longer before the pump needs to turn on. Because the pump cycles on and off less frequently, there is less stress and wear on the well system. This can lead to a longer lifespan for the pump and tank, and you may experience fewer pump-related issues that could affect your water pressure in the long run.

If you want to increase your water pressure, you can try one of the following solutions:

• Adjust the tank’s pressure settings to a higher PSI (pounds per square inch).

• Replace your current pump with one that has a higher flow rate (GPM).

• Install a water pressure booster pump in your plumbing system.

• For pressure fluctuations, consider replacing your current setup with a constant pressure system.
