"They removed the old blown-in insulation in attic.  I had a huge amount of it and it had been seeping into the house through cracks, old intake holes in ceiling, etc. causing me a lot of health issues.  They went above and beyond to get the job done.  What was assumed to be a two day job turned into three but they were very professional, polite and accommodating.  They sealed around all openings in attic after removal.  I would hire them again.

"It went wonderfully!  In order to get the PSO rebates, the house has to pass certain inspections and where there are deficiency's, Airco stepped up and fixed them... For instance, I didn't have enough insulation, they blew in more to make it up to PSO standards for efficiency.  They siliconed all the cracks that air would normally leak from, they taped up duct work in the attic that had been leaking.  There were many other things they did for this rebate, I am not going to list them all.  All this was AFTER he gave me my quote.  They didn't raise the quote to do this either!
Nice, neat, and cleaned up after themselves for the most part.
They will be doing my other house when the time comes.

"The electrician worked on one of the hottest days of the year in the attic to find the source of the problem - a loose wire inside of a junction box - and repaired the issue.  It took a few hours due mostly to the fact that the wires were buried in the walls and hidden under mounds of attic insulation and he had to test each connection along the way to discover the source of the problem.  Will definitely hire this company again."

"Joey provided options for system replacement at my mother's home, and offered as detailed an explanation as I wanted about any aspect of the job. He was great at communication such as asking me to call with any questions I might have. He kept all promises made about installation of parts, timing of install and cost of install, which was more reasonable than the estimate provided by the AC repair company I typically used. His staff were polite and professional and the install felt stress free. Joey offers quality products, along with great warranties, and maintenance free of charge for several years on his installed product. I have never been so pleased with any trade service provided to me over the years, as I was with this gentleman. I recommend him 100%. I have plans for Joey to replace my own ac system and provide insulation due to his professionalism and care for his clients. I will also use his services for maintenance from now on."

"The tear off crew was very careless about protecting our plants from debris damage. A very cavalier attitude towards safety. Had to fight to get them to wear fall protection on a steep and high roof. More than once I was told "We have good insurance" whether it involved worker safety or protection against rain damage. Called back to fix a leak, it took 4 phone calls and a visit to their office to get a response. When the repair was made all we received was a handwritten note that it was fixed - no details.

"Roberto was the technician and he was very professional, polite, and personable. He inspected the rest of our system and told us things that needed to be changed or repaired. He showed me pictures of everything. Everything he told me about was accurate. He quoted me a price for R38 insulation , Some of our ducts were plastic and he recommended them to be changed. I agreed completely and didn't know they were plastic. I would have had them done the work but I had no price comparisons to make and besides I didn't have the money right then. So he just finished the vent cleaning and left his card. He did a great job on the vent cleaning and was happy with the work."

FAQs for insulation service projects in Calumet, OK

When choosing a professional insulation installer, consider asking these questions to determine the best fit.

  • Will you address air leaks in my house?

  • Can you provide an R-value (heat resistance) fact sheet?

  • What kind of insulation will work best for my home?

  • How do you handle signs of a water leak?

  • Are you licensed and insured?

  • Can you provide customer references?

The best type of insulation for your home depends on what you need, so the answer will depend on your specific situation. If you’re building a house, structural panels are easy to install during the building process in addition to being the most energy efficient type. If you live in a warm climate, reflective insulation may benefit you more as it costs less than other insulation types. And for standard attics, loose-fill, spray foam, or blown-in insulation work well.

If you plan to heat or cool your garage, you’ll need to insulate the garage ceiling. Insulating your garage ceiling will make your garage much more energy efficient and save on heating and cooling costs. Not only does insulation make your garage more energy efficient, it helps reduce noise and can extend the life of your garage roof. You can use fiberglass, cellulose, mineral wool, or spray foam insulation for this project.

In some cases, you may not have enough insulation to properly regulate your home’s temperature. Watch for a few signs your home needs more insulation, such as:

  • High heating and cooling bills

  • Uncomfortable room temperatures

  • Ice dams on the edge of your roof

  • Roof leaks

  • Cold floors and walls

  • Freezing pipes

  • Temperature fluctuations

  • Visibly low insulation

  • Noise problems

  • Pest problems

On average, insulating an attic costs about $2,500, ranging from $1,500 to $3,500, depending on the insulation type, amount, and your attic’s accessibility. Additional cost factors include sealing air leaks, removal or replacement of insulation, and inspections. Types of insulation include:

  • Blown-in: $1–$4 per square foot

  • Spray foam: $2–$5 per square foot

  • Batt: $2–$4 per square foot

  • Structural insulated panels: $4–$7 per square foot

  • Loose-fill: $2–$5 per square foot

  • Reflective: $0.50–$1.50 per square foot
