"Erin was very prompt and easy to work with when scheduling my appointment for an estimate. I thought I had poison ivy and/or poison oak on my back fence so I was looking to hire someone to remove it. However, when Erin arrived at my house, she looked at my fence and told me that I did NOT have poison ivy nor poison oak, so the removal was unnecessary. I appreciate her honesty, even though it meant I would not need her services. I will keep her in mind for future projects!!"

"I would recommend Tulsa Paint Co. They were professional, on time, completed the work quickly and the quality was top notch. Carlos was fantastic and his team was polite, cleaned up the work area and personable. So pleased with this company and price was reasonable."

Aquarium Services questions, answered by experts

All municipalities in the U.S. require a permit for septic tank installation or septic system alteration, and the permit will usually cost between $450 and $2,500. Some municipalities also require permits for septic system repair. You’ll either need to contact your local building department or your septic tank company to ask if this is necessary before carrying out the work. Permits are not typically required to have your septic tank pumped, so provided your septic company is licensed, you can move forward with the work as needed.

The bacteria already present in your septic system should be enough to break down solids in a properly maintained septic tank. However, if you’re in a DIY mood, you can try adding (well-mashed) rotten tomatoes to help the good bacteria fulfill their duty. Just make sure you give them a couple hours to work after flushing them down.

You should pump your septic tank once every two to four years for a family of four, depending on your septic tank size. You should pump a 1,000-gallon septic tank every two years, while a 1,500-gallon tank should be pumped every four years. Water usage also affects how often you should pump your septic tank. If you notice slow drains, foul smells, or gurgling sounds from your drains, you should pump your septic tank as soon as possible.

Professionals will ensure waste is sorted for recycling, thus reducing landfill impact.

Never use Drano on blocked toilets. You can end up with a ghastly leak because the chemicals eat away at the glue that holds pipes together just as effectively as they do with clogs. Drano is known for being particularly rough on toilets, which is why some plumbers actually dislike the product.
