"Time will tell, but concerned that their solution may be costly. Rather than someone local, they hooked me up with a company that they called, to ship chemicals, etc. that I will need to administer. One has to hope that this takes care of the mold issues that we have. Now are we going to have to pay someone else too recheck if we still have issues."

"The owner of the company is very professional and courteous. He went above and beyond to answer all my questions and explained every step of the process. Not only was the install super easy, but the price was super competitive based on my comparisons of other companies. I loved how everything turned and I would recommend Gr8r than Energy to anyone looking to have solar panels installed! I honestly cannot wait to work with them again on projects in the future!"

Biohazard Remediation questions, answered by experts

It is generally not safe to live in a house with smoke damage, as even minor damage can pose long-term health hazards and structural risks. While it might seem safe temporarily depending on the severity, you should relocate if there is major damage or visible soot. Smoke smells and residue contain dangerous particulates and chemical compounds, including carcinogens, that are hazardous to breathe and can cause respiratory issues. These signs of damage are not always visible but can have dangerous short-term and long-term effects on your health, belongings, and your home's structural materials. You should not stay in the house until a trained professional from a smoke remediation or restoration company has assessed the damage and determined it is safe to return. Your insurance company may cover the cost of alternative housing while the professional work is completed.

Yes. Over time, hidden moisture from a leak in your bathroom may lead to black mold, requiring a mold remediation company’s services and the removal of large wall sections, which can be costly. Mold can grow on garage ceiling insulation, which is why it’s important to install a vapor barrier behind the insulation and keep the space cooled and heated as you would your living area. Doing so will more or less eliminate the risk of mold growing on your garage ceiling insulation. You can also install a self-draining dehumidifier to help remove moisture, or opt for a foam board insulation or spray foam insulation that won’t harbor moisture and mold.

Yes, air duct cleaning can remove mold from the interior lines of HVAC systems. Professional air duct cleaning companies use tools and methods like brushes, cleaners, and vacuums to remove mold from air ducts. For successful mold remediation, it is essential to hire a reputable and experienced air duct cleaning service. Keeping your air ducts clean can also help prevent the conditions that allow mold to grow and thrive in your ductwork.

Wood stain is not considered toxic after it dries. The solvents in wood stain are what give off volatile organic compounds (VOCs), which are toxic, but these dissolve as the product dries, leaving behind a non-toxic product. When working with wood stain, you should always wear a respirator and rubber gloves to protect yourself, but once it dries fully, it’s not toxic, according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
