"Time will tell, but concerned that their solution may be costly. Rather than someone local, they hooked me up with a company that they called, to ship chemicals, etc. that I will need to administer. One has to hope that this takes care of the mold issues that we have. Now are we going to have to pay someone else too recheck if we still have issues."

"I used Moving APT for our relocation to Tampa and they did a very good job both on pick up and drop off. They handled everything with care and absolutely nothing was broken or scratched. I would recommend them."

Biohazard Remediation questions, answered by experts

Yes, if installed correctly. Moisture barrier padding blocks dampness from reaching the padding core and subfloor, where mold loves to grow, especially in humid environments like basements. However, poor installation with gaps or loose seams can do the exact opposite, trapping moisture and creating mold problems. So, make sure to do your installation carefully or hire a professional.

Putting off cleaning your fridge is a bad idea for a few reasons. For one, any food spills can build up, making it much harder to clean your fridge when you finally do get around to it. Plus, any stray pickle juice or leaky leftovers are a recipe for a stinky fridge.

But beyond that, if you don’t clean your fridge, it could be a health hazard. Old food can turn moldy and old spills can too. Even if none of that scares you, putting off cleaning your fridge will make it look downright gross, which should be reason enough to break out your sponge.

Water damage doesn’t always cause mold and wood rot, but it can. Both mold and wood rot require moisture in the wood to form, so water damage that continues to leave water or moisture behind can lead to both issues. Water damage and mold often go hand-in-hand, but you can prevent mold growth after water damage by addressing the source of moisture and drying out the area quickly. The same goes for wood rot. The longer you let water damage go, the higher the risk of mold and rot.

Yes, mold under silicone caulk can potentially cause health issues, which may be more noticeable in people with asthma, allergies, or other respiratory conditions. Mold releases spores into the air, and inhaling these spores can cause symptoms such as coughing, sneezing, eye irritation, and skin rashes. It's important to address mold issues promptly to protect your health.

According to the EPA, mold grows within 24 to 48 hours if left untreated after a water leak. So unless you notice the leak and stop it right away, you only have a day or so before mold is a real concern. If you don’t notice the leak, it can take about three weeks for the mold spores to become visible. That means you’ve likely had an active mold infection for a few weeks by the time you notice discoloration.
