"Dalton came over and quoted me and let me know what was going on with the garage door. He gave me two options. I went with the option of replacing all the hardware and mechanisms because I didn't know how old the garage door was. We had moved into the house a few years earlier. I'm glad I did. All the bearings were locked up and worn out. He did a great job and educated me on a lot of things and then recommended how often to lubricate the mechanisms and where. He had great customer service and was thorough and friendly. I would highly recommend C&S Overhead Garage Door services. The price was fair for parts and labor. He also called and let me know he had a rescheduled appointment and could come earlier. I'm very grateful for that. Thank you!"

"What a great company! I used Advance Door Solutions to replace an outdated garage door opener Oct 2024. A previous company had quoted me nearly three times as much and tried to sell me a number of upgrades and repairs I was not needing. It’s possible to use a torch to melt ice on your garage door, but we don’t recommend it. Instead, we recommend pouring hot water over the frozen area or using a less intense heat source, like a hair dryer or space heater.

You should let your initial paint job dry at least 12 hours before opening the door. Check your work after 12 hours have passed to confirm there are no uneven patches, or signs of the old paint showing though—if you see any, we recommend applying a second coat of paint and waiting an additional 12 hours for it to dry. 

Standard garage door sizes for single doors range from 8 feet wide by 7 feet tall to 9 feet wide by 7 feet tall. An oversized single garage door would be 10 feet wide by 7 feet wide. The standard size for double garage doors is 16 feet wide by 7 feet high. However, some custom double garage doors can be as wide as 20 feet.

The difference between vinyl and rubber garage door bottom seals comes down to cost, flexibility, and climate. Vinyl is the budget-friendly option, lasting well in moderate climates and resisting wear and tear. In colder climates, it can get stiff and make installation more difficult. Alternatively, rubber offers more flexibility, even in freezing temperatures, and better sticks to uneven surfaces. Rubber is more expensive but tends to be more adaptable.
