"Tony did a very good job of replacing our paved driveway with a new cement one. The work done was very high quality and I would highly recommend Tony and his crew to anyone looking for a new driveway."

"Anthony and his crew showed up right on time as expected. They went right to work on ripping out all the old concrete. They also helped level the yard and remove anot old tree stump while they had their Bobcat here.

Anthony worked with me on a design for a new patio. We ended up going with stained quarry stone and I love it. We also did a new design on the front stairs and entryway with the same quarry stone.

This is my third house that Bello Disegno has completed concrete jobs on. That includes 3 patios, 5 sidewalks, 1 garage floor and 2 driveways.

They also just completed doing a new driveway for me so I will post pictures and complete a review for that as well."

"Jamie and ALL were wonderful to work with! They provided EVERYTHING they said they would and more that I never even considered going in to the project. They took care of the permit and dealt with our township and county when they discovered a hidden issue at the road / driveway joint. All of their employees were friendly, courteous and SKILLED. We now have a fabulous driveway that everyone in the neighborhood compliments! We would choose Jamie Cummings again and again!"

"Kelvin’s crew poured 56 yards of concrete for a specially designed driveway and a stamped patio in one day. Work was completed professionally, on time and for an excellent price. I hired them again to pour a stamped fire pit pad and couldn’t be happier. Dealing with contractors isn’t always fun so if you need any kind of concrete work, make only one call to C & D Concrete. You won’t be disappointed."

"Great company! The work was done on schedule. Everyone was very nice, courteous and professional. I was totally satisfied with their work and would definitely call them again. They had paved my daughter’s long driveway last summer and their work was perfection."

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

Concrete is typically the best material for a driveway if you’re looking for longevity, cost-effectiveness, and ease of maintenance. But, it’s not ideal for areas with annual freeze-frost cycles, nor is it the most attractive option—although you can get it stamped or painted. If your location is consistently below freezing, asphalt may be a better choice.

The material that’s best for your private road depends on your property, the climate in your area, and your personal preferences. Gravel is an affordable option, but some homeowners don’t like how it looks. It can be a pain to remove snow from, and it requires more ongoing maintenance than asphalt or concrete. However, while these other options require less maintenance and make snow removal a breeze, they’re more expensive and will need repairs from time to time. Ultimately, you’ll have to choose the road material that suits you and your property best.

Asphalt is not a type of concrete. While both are a common type of pavement, asphalt is composed of aggregates (like sand and gravel) and bitumen; concrete is a mixture of cement, aggregates, and water. Here are some of the key differences between asphalt and concrete driveways.

Driveway aprons typically range between four and seven inches thick, though your town's building codes will likely have specific requirements. Additionally, you may need to add a layer of permeable aggregate in the excavation below your paved apron to ensure proper stormwater drainage.

Asphalt edging secures the sides of your driveway to prevent crumbling and cracking over time. Most driveways have edges with a 45-degree grading. This helps transfer some of the stress from the asphalt to the ground underneath. If your driveway doesn’t have proper edging, the pressure from your car may break down the edges over time.
