"These people worked with me when they found out that I was paying myself and not an insurance company, After settling on a price, I added $200 additional work repairing a rusted out fender. When replacing the Jeep's soft top, they determined they could not remove and reuse the old windows with out breaking them. They returned that top and ordered one with windows and DID NOT charge me the difference in price. They also painted the plastic trim on the fenders which was not on the original estimate. They did an excellent job and I am extremely please with the results"

Window Tinting questions, answered by experts

If you have bubble wrap lying around the house and you don’t care about the odd look, taping bubble wrap over a window is a very affordable way to insulate it. Another inexpensive option for insulating windows is to add new caulk around the glass. This step quickly cuts down on air drafts for older windows, and a tube of caulk only costs a few dollars. Adding plastic shrink film around the glass is another cost-effective option. You can purchase a kit of plastic film for a few dollars per window.

Most window installation and repair companies can handle putting tint film over your existing windows, but it’s best to hire a company that specializes in window tinting. This decision will result in the best application for the cleanest look, and it usually means you’ll get a better professional opinion about the type of tint and tint level that makes the most sense for your home and personal preferences.

Tinted window films for houses are usually made from a micro-thin sheet of thermoplastic resin called polyethylene terephthalate (PET) that offers the strength and flexibility needed when fitting film to a window. Homeowners looking for a solution that insulates a window without blocking light from a home should investigate low-e glass vs. window film.

The visibility through tinted house windows depends on the lighting. During the day, when it is brighter outside, privacy film prevents people from seeing into your home. However, this effect reverses at night. If you have lights on inside, it becomes brighter indoors than outdoors, allowing people to see inside. To optimize privacy, you can select from various shades of film, ranging from lighter to darker, which affects how much is visible from the outside.

Yes, you can remove window tint from house windows. You can either use heat to loosen the film before peeling or scrape it away with a blade. You’ll also use a solution to wipe away any adhesive that still clings to the window.
