"Great painters. This is the second house they ve done for us. This one was a challenge because it had been vacant for years and had fallen into disrepair. They did an amazing job inside and outside. Prices were good. And the work excellent. Great to work with. Neat clean and courteous crew. Will hire again for the next rental we purchase"

"Very professional, honest and courteous. Very hard workers! Had popcorn ceilings repainted, living room, kitchen, two bathrooms, and one bedroom painted also. Richard is more meticulous than I am, and I thought I was fussy. They help with the set up of moving furniture, and their clean up is fantastic. Not one drop of paint anywhere. I would highly recommend them. Very fair pricing too."

"My microwave oven broke right before the Thanksgiving holiday. Help!!! I called By All Means And More and, as usual, they rescued me. They installed my new microwave very quickly. They came just a few days after I called them and put me into their schedule as an emergency. I have used these guys for all sorts of construction and fixes around the house. They are friendly, courteous, clean and always do what they promised to do. They clean up after themselves beautifully. Their list of references is a mile long. ?"

Deck Cleaning questions, answered by experts

In most cases, your deck will need some form of deck footing to hold it in place, preventing moisture from rotting your wood and decreasing your deck’s lifespan. Concrete deck blocks are the most common type of footing for floating decks. Some homeowners use ground-level deck footings. For added security, consider digging and laying your ground-level footings below ground.

The best base materials for a ground-level or floating deck are typically gravel and crushed stone (also known as landscaping rocks). These options are inexpensive, provide excellent drainage, prevent weeds, and help minimize moisture buildup, which reduces shifting and rotting. For added stability and to evenly distribute the weight, you can use concrete deck blocks or pavers. While more expensive, concrete blocks and pavers offer a sturdier base than gravel or crushed stone alone.

Many people say the best composite decking is Trex, TimberTech, or Fiberon. These brands have formulated composite deck boards to withstand the elements and hold up over time. Each offers a range of product lines varying in durability, price, and appearance. Compare their different composite decking offers for cost, looks, and features before deciding on a product.

Yes, adding a composite deck, such as one made from Trex, can significantly increase your home's value. It is a valuable home renovation for recouping costs, with some estimates for return on investment (ROI) ranging between 60% and 70%. More recently, Remodeling's 2024 Cost vs. Value Report suggests a deck addition has an ROI of 82.9%, with an average resale value of nearly $14,600. A new deck makes your yard more functional, enhances the landscape's aesthetic, and can entice prospective buyers. The investment may have a higher return if the deck adds usable square footage to the property.

You can add a roof to most decks, but you need to have it inspected first. If your deck didn’t come with a roof initially, it may not be able to handle the weight without some structural changes. You can add additional supports to your existing deck to safely add a roof, and tying your deck’s roof to an exterior wall can help add some structural stability, but remember these aren’t DIY projects and need to be left to a pro.
