"I have hired them three different times to install finishing woodwork trim in my home. They installed chair rails, crown molding, and added door surrounds for four door openings. Their work is quick, neat, and well priced. I would and will hire them again."

Customers say: Quality work

"The job was done professionally and proper. They were easy to work with and conscience of satisfying the customer. They explained everything and tried their best to do a great job. A couple trees needed trimmed, but John said the summer heat would hurt them. So, he offered to come in the fall at no extra charge and complete the trimming. I'm glad they put the customer first. I didn't want to lose the shrubs by my porch so I'm glad he suggested to wait till fall. They did a couple extra things for me and were glad to do it even if it wasn't discussed earlier. Customers will like working with them."

Woodworking questions, answered by experts

Carpenters are trained to take on a wide range of home projects. You can hire a carpenter to do framing, roofing, build custom furniture, and make significant upgrades to your home. General carpenters are usually able to handle most jobs. However, you may also choose to hire a carpenter who specializes in a specific type of carpentry.

It is not recommended to cut or drill into LVL (laminated veneer lumber) beams. As major structural components of a home, their composite structure can be compromised by alterations, which can weaken them and lead to cracking over time. If you must make modifications to an LVL beam, it is crucial to consult a structural engineer or general contractor first. A professional can advise on whether it's safe and provide specifics on the appropriate bit size, depth, and directionality for any necessary drilling.

Professionals ensure safe, thorough repairs using quality materials, extending the life of your structure.

General contractors use subcontractors to complete specific parts of a construction project. For example, a general contractor might have construction experience but need a subcontractor to install plumbing lines in a new home.

When building a house, it is customary to use 16d nails that measure 3 1/2 inches in length to construct the frame. These nails are crucial in providing the necessary support and stability for structural elements like joists and studs, which ensures a sturdy framework.
