"The snow storm of 1-25-26 shut down my shop. Brandon answered the call with in 10 min. He was capable of getting in some tight areas and took great care of the Gravel parking area. He showed up after a cold call and gave me a good price for the sizable and tight areas I needed snow removed. I will hire Brandon again and recommend anyone else to do the same."

"Hired him to do my yard last season and he always went above and beyond. His work is incredible and he always shows up when he says heâ s going to be there and never fails to get the work done in a timely manner. I highly recommend Ben and his crew to anyone who needs lawncare. His prices are very reasonable as well. Good luck, Ben, and many more happy customers this year! Heâ s doing my yard again!! :)"

Snow Removal questions, answered by experts

If you’re looking at how to remove snow from solar panels, heat from the sun usually melts the snow within a few days. However, snow removal might be necessary for winter solar power production in areas with deep snow during the winter. There are brushes with telescoping handles and gentle heads to brush away snow. It’s best to stay on the ground if possible and avoid using tools that could scratch the surface of the solar panels, like a snow shovel or broom.

Costs depend on property size, snowfall frequency, and additional services like de-icing or hauling snow offsite.

Generally, snow removal from a roof should occur once over six inches of snow accumulates, especially if you notice that ice dams have formed. Without ice dams, you can let the snow accumulation hit 12 inches before removing it. However, the amount of snow that is too much for your roof also depends on the sturdiness of your roof and the compactness of the snow. If your roof needs maintenance or has structural issues, it’s best not to let the snow accumulate too much for fear of collapsing.

If a big freeze catches you by surprise and you don’t have any deicer to hand, you can reduce the chance of taking a tumble by laying gritty, anti-slip materials. Some natural, readily-available options that don’t melt ice but offer traction underfoot include sand, wood shavings, kitty litter, and fireplace ash.

Leaving a significant amount of snow on your roof can be risky. Most roofs are designed to handle about 20 pounds per square foot of snow, but exceeding this limit can lead to a roof collapse. A collapse can cause severe damage to your home and belongings and poses a physical danger to anyone inside. Furthermore, heavy snow accumulation increases the risk of ice dams, which can cause leaks and water damage to your roof, attic, and interior walls.
