"I put in a whole new HVAC Trane system 2 years ago, and signed up the the twice a year maintenance program. So far, the technicians who come to inspect and examine both the heating and cooling systems have been very competent and thorough. Yesterday, Dave Seible was my technician and he was great. He also had filters available, so I bought those too. Very good and professional operation."

"First of all I am not easy to satisfy.  I run a local roofing and restoration company so I expect a lot.  I analyze not only quality but price and customer service as well.  Wells HVAC satisfied and even exceeded my expectations.  I thought I had a good offer from another provider and I explained to wells that I was ready to pull the trigger with another deal but they came out and offered a better deal with a better warranty at a better price than the one I was going to go with.  I was really happy they replaced the system in my Condo.  I plan on using them to replace my unit in my other condo when it goes out and possibly the unit in my primary home.   You can end your search here and go with Wells.  You will be glad you did!
Sincerely,

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

An undersized whole-house generator has the potential to overheat and shut down when you try to run a central AC system. This scenario can not only damage the whole-house generator, but can also trip your home’s breakers or cause electrical damage. To avoid this situation, hire a local generator installer to correctly size your whole-house generator.

Most units are designed only to cool the house down to 20 degrees less than the temperature outside. This means that if it’s 99 degrees Fahrenheit out and you’re trying to cool your home down to 65 degrees, you’ll notice your AC is struggling.

Lower the blinds on all your windows, turn on your ceiling fans, and keep the thermostat at a consistent temperature to help your AC do its job. Investing in an HVAC maintenance plan also helps because pros will come out to inspect and tune up your unit regularly, keeping it in optimal working condition.

A 10,000-watt generator can run a small to mid-sized central AC unit (typically up to 3 tons or 36,000 BTU) along with a few other appliances. However, larger AC units or additional loads will require a bigger generator. Consult a local generator installer to ensure you add the correct size generator to your home.

No. Evaporator coils are designed to work with specific refrigerant types, and they are rated by what kinds of refrigerant they use. It’s indicated with an “R” code. It’s important to match your evaporator coil and refrigerant or your system will not work properly. An AC technician can tell you what type of refrigerant your system needs and what evaporator coils will work with it.

Yes. In fact, not only are AC tuneups worth it, but they’re actually necessary to keep your air conditioner in good condition, improve its efficiency, and potentially prevent major damage. Experts recommend getting a tuneup at least once per year. In most cases, you’ll want to schedule it during the spring so that you can address any issues before the hottest months of the year.
