"Deck Renewal Systems delivered a beautiful, quality deck for our home! We are pleased with the outcome. The team was responsive, helped us to select a great material, was able to leverage existing framing (saved us money) and ensured the new deck was reinforced with updated support posts. They even flexed to accommodate our last minute decision to add a patio with another vendor so that the deck and patio worked together. The team was hard working and a pleasure to work with. Definitely recommend if you're looking to add a beautiful deck to your home!"

"All Around Joe has done an excellent job on all work that they've done for us over the last fifteen years. Joe Wood delivers on what he says he will do…from stopping our basement leak, to remodeling our kitchen, to remodeling out utility room, to gutting an old 10000 sq ft restaurant and creating a modern medical building, along with many smaller projects to numerous to remember. He additionally has attention to detail and the unique ability to look at an issue and then develop a solution to correct that specific problem. Joe also hires very talented, trustworthy people who have been a pleasure to work with; they have respected our time by communicating often and keeping us in the loop at all times."

"We’re happy with the results. Rob was very accommodating, picked up and assembled a shed vs build one at our request. He did a thorough old shed tear down and site prep and hauled away. Good communication throughout. Thank you."

Small jobs welcome

"C.J came out to our home to inspect the work only a few days after I contacted them I was impressed with his knowledge of what had to be done. l When I mentioned that there was dampness in the basement need where the porch was overhead, he immediately said he would add flashing to fix the problem. I was impressed that he was not a sub-contractor as the service I had been using. I could be assured of quality work each time they came to my house. I liked how clean and organized his Mr. Handyman truck was, and the quality of his tools. Here, I thought, is a real professional who takes pride in his work. The entire structure was well made. I was especially concerned that the step railing was sturdy and made to last .He even brought his own generator to power his tools, since there was no easy access to an outside outlet, and I needed to leave for a while.

"Greg was very prompt in meeting me at the job site.  We reviewed what work needed to be preformed.  Greg called me with his bid as promised.  He followed up with a written bid by e mailing the bid to me.  I obtained three bids for this project. Greg`s bid was very competitive but not the lowest. I had used Greg in the past to paint my kitchen in my previous home his workmanship was top notch. Once again I was very impressed with his workmanship and could tell he was determined to finish the job on time and more importantly that I was satisfied with the final product. If you need a painter that is prompt, very skilled at his trade, price competitive and determined to satisfy his customers Greg is your man!

"I dealt with Tim for the price and project details and then Jeff was the man who came out to do the job. The deck had previously been done by a guy who did not know what he was doing so Jeff power washed the entire deck and let it dry for 24 hours, then he sanded the deck and scrubbed it down with denatured alcohol to help remove any remaining paint from before. When the deck was dry, Jeff taped off everything and proceeded to edge everything before he rolled a nice thick layer of paint on the deck. We waited another 24 hours and Jeff returned to apply a nice second coat of paint on the entire deck. Tim and Jeff are very easy to work with and I will most certainly come back to them for future projects."

"Doug is great always in great communication and always on time and has up front pricing, even when I decided on changing the roof design we talked about it and cost Even with changes he came in well within my budget and well below if I would have bought a cheap building Note: even between the winter storms if it was above freezing he would be out working I highly recommend Pictures to large to load"

"Karl did a phenomenal job building our nursery. Before starting construction he did a walk though of the room and took the time to really get to know my wife and I and understand our vision. He was timely and prompt and an excellent communicator. Before proceeding to the next step of our plan he would stop and confer with us to ensure the work was done properly. The finished product was just how we envisioned it. Installing the beadboard with a molding and rope finish really brought our room to life! During clean up he was thorough to not leave a mess and leave the room better than when he started. I would be hire Karl again for our other home renovations."

Carpentry questions, answered by experts

There are both temporary and permanent ways to enclose a carport. If you’re looking to enclose your carport for the winter, a canvas enclosure could do the trick. It won’t be as protective as a permanent structure, but it can offer some protection from elements like snow, rain, and wind. For a permanent enclosure, you can add extra walls, add a new vertical roof, or a lean-to addition on one side of the structure.

The cost to install a bow window can range from $1,500 to $15,000, with a national average of $3,900. The total price includes materials, which can cost between $1,200 and over $14,000, and labor, which typically adds $300 to $1,900. Several factors influence the final cost, including the window's size and frame material. For example, vinyl frames are the most budget-friendly option, while wood frames are more expensive. Custom features or energy-efficient upgrades will also increase the price. For comparison, a bay window installation typically costs between $1,000 and $7,000.

Converting a carport into a garage can vary in difficulty depending on its configuration, the condition of the foundation or slab, and its location relative to the house. The process has a lot in common with a home addition, but you can often skip non-essential finishes like fine flooring, trim work, or even drywall and HVAC. The conversion requires experience with drywall, insulation, and other building materials to ensure it’s done safely and correctly. While it might be possible for a DIYer with the proper tools and skills to do the work, it is a complicated and potentially dangerous job. If you’re new to basic construction, it's best to leave this project to the professionals.

A-frame homes are on the smaller side. While there’s no set square footage amount it has to be, it will usually come in around 1,000 square feet or smaller.

When choosing a drywall anchor, consider the weight of the object you're hanging and how much weight the anchor will need to support. The heavier the weight, the stronger the anchor you'll need. You’ll find the weight capacity on the packaging when shopping for anchors.

Also, remember that you can use more than one anchor when hanging something on the wall. If you're using multiple anchors, divide the object weight by the number of anchors to determine how much each will need to support. If you need help deciding which drywall anchor to use, you can hire a handyperson to hang your objects.
