"I recently had the pleasure of working with Stay Dry Waterproofing and I can confidently say that they are the best waterproofing company in town. From start to finish, their team of experts were professional, knowledgeable, and attentive to my needs. The project manager, Brock, was fantastic to work with. He took the time to thoroughly explain the waterproofing process and answered all of my questions with patience and expertise. He also provided a detailed timeline for the project, which helped me plan accordingly. The installation crew arrived on time and worked diligently to complete the project on schedule. They were respectful of my property, kept the work area clean, and were mindful of noise levels. Overall, I was extremely satisfied with the quality of work and level of service provided by Stay Dry Waterproofing. My basement is now completely dry and I have peace of mind knowing that my home is protected from water damage. I highly recommend this company to anyone in need of waterproofing services. They truly deserve 5 stars!"

"All of the guys were very friendly and professional, they got the work done quicker than expected (only took a little over a half a day). They had to dig around most of my house to do the waterproofing but you can hardly even tell. They worked with me on financing to make the payments doable for me. The foreman, Aaron was very thorough in explaining everything and walking me through what they would be doing. I have a 91 year old house that requires a lot of fixing up and this was one of the things I was not looking forward to getting done but Everdry made it a lot easier than I thought it would be."

"I received a quote from someone else who said I needed to reinforce the basement walls. They did no measurements. $1800 - $2600 I received a quote from another company who said I did not need to reinforce the walls, but I needed to waterproof the basement from the outside. $2600 I received a quote from the owner of this company who said I did not need to reinforce the walls and did not need to waterproof the walls from the outside. (This was unsolicited; I did not tell him what the others said.) Quote: $0 He did make some recommendations for future updates. I am calling this company FIRST for everything!"

Basement Waterproofing questions, answered by experts

If you set up a dehumidifier, it will usually dry out your wet crawl space within 12 to 24 hours. Once the space is dry, it’s a good idea to take preventative measures to keep it dry. These include installing a French drain or other exterior foundation drainage system, installing a sump pump in the crawl space, and installing a vapor barrier in addition to leaving the dehumidifier running.

Yes, usually you will need some kind of vapor barrier on the exterior walls when the framing is attached to concrete and masonry surfaces.

Some disadvantages of crawl spaces are mostly regarding the air itself—moisture build-up and poor ventilation, which can cause problems both in the house and underneath it, even damaging the foundation itself. Crawl spaces are difficult to access and often invite unwanted pests during the hot summer months and the cold winter ones. These hard-to-seal spaces are also susceptible to water damage during periods of heavy rain or melting snow.

Ideal humidity conditions generally range from 30% to 50%, with 45% considered optimal humidity for most homes. If your humidity levels drop below that range, you can turn your dehumidifier off. Additionally, suppose the temperature where the dehumidifier is installed falls below 60 degrees Fahrenheit. In that case, it's best to turn it off and unplug it since cooler temperatures can cause the unit's coils to freeze.

A vapor barrier can last over 20 years, but they are vulnerable to pests, flooding, and other natural disasters. If your home weathers a storm or is treated for any pest infestation, make sure to have a drywall pro come check the integrity of your vapor barrier. It’s also important to have a pro install a vapor barrier since improper installation can lead to tears or leaks in the barrier that shorten its lifespan.
