"I contacted NRG masters as they're listed as an authorized insulation contractor through the DEO energy rebate program. They completed the job in one day and were very professional. I received quotes from several other contractors and NRG was a little lower and since the job was relatively straightforward, I went with them. Happy with the results. Nice job."

"We had a very positive experience with Moving Ahead. From the very beginning of the process they were very responsive to my questions. On moving day, the men showed up on time and were very hard working, polite and professional. The company accommodated us when we realized we would have more furniture than originally stated, and they got the move completed in less time than planned. I highly recommend this company and will definitely use them again in the future."

"The entire process went very smooth. John was very helpful in the decision process of which shed fit our needs. He did a site inspection, helping us match the siding and placement of the shed. The construction went very smooth, Bob and Jesse were here the first day very early - I was amazed at how fast it went up - worked pretty much non-stop and were very polite and professional. Second day, Bob arrived early in the morning, again worked pretty much non-stop and by that afternoon the shed was finished and looked fantastic. Very happy with our experience, would recommend Just-A-Shed."

"Jaime called me and set up a day to come after we talked about what needed to be done. I had plenty of repairs to do after a tenant moved out. He did an excellent job on everything I needed done. He definitely does quality work and I will without a doubt call him again!"

Greenhouses and Nurseries questions, answered by experts

In most cases, wait three to five days to repot or relocate a plant from a greenhouse or nursery. That way, your plant has time to recover from any shock during the move and adapt to the conditions in and around your home. Some hearty plants may not need as long, and delicate plants might need several weeks. You should ask the professional at your nursery for a recommended timeline. Consider asking about an initial watering schedule to help stimulate root growth and promote a healthy plant.

Eco-friendly materials include sustainably-sourced woods, recycled metals, low-VOC paints, and non-toxic sealants, which reduce environmental impact. Using these in repairs promotes sustainability and can improve indoor air quality and overall building health.

Adding burnt charcoal to your garden beds and plant pots can yield several benefits, but there are risks involved, too. Charcoal, particularly biochar, can enhance soil structure, improve water drainage, and increase nutrient retention. When activated, charcoal provides key nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. However, burnt charcoal, especially from briquettes, can inadvertently alter soil's pH levels and become hazardous to plants. Overall, there are better and less risky soil amendments available, such as vermiculite, perlite, or wood chips.

Minor fixes like patching leaks or repainting are DIY-friendly, but structural repairs require professional expertise.

The quickest way you can protect plants and trees from frost is to cover them with garden blankets or frost cloths. Also, bringing potted plants or trees indoors is much simpler than trying to cover and protect them outdoors. Remember to anchor blankets with something such as sandbags, fabric pins, or rocks if the forecast calls for strong winds to keep them from blowing away and exposing your trees and plants.
