"They were very professional and explained the restoration process prior to starting the process. The marble looks like it was just installed even though it's 60 years old. I highly recommend them for any and all your restoration needs."

"The technician, John, was great. He had to put a little extra effort in trying to bring this carpet back from the dead. Results were terrific. Far better than I expected the carpet to look after the cleaning. Very satisfied with this job and would definitely use again and highly recommend.

"Bob came out to quote a crack in my wall even though he said they really don’t do this kind of work. He came out and just fixed it for free. Not only that, we kept missing each other on the phone. He kept trying back even though he knew there wasn’t much chance of him making any money on the job. When does that happen? Also, he repaired the wall for free because I was an Angie's list member! How many contracts work like this? I wish he did more than masonry."

"Work was done quickly and was both excellent and affordable. I was in the process of selling the house and needed to ensure the garage and front gutter were fixed quickly but also well done. Bob and team was responsive and did an excellent job. Would highly recommend this team!"

"In all cases, I was extremely pleased with the results of Jamie's work; he is an excellent craftsman.  I found his prices to be very fair and he always left the work area neat and clean.  I would highly recommend him to anyone needing repairs inside or outside the home.  If you decide to use Jamie, be prepared to be patient.  I think he is in high demand and may not be able to get to the work right away.  That being said, he is worth waiting for."

"Bob came out promptly, provided an estimate, and started the work in about a week. He worked around 4 or 5 hours each day, and the project took 6 working days. He was able to save enough old peach tiles to make an attractive border around the middle of the shower. The tile work is excellent and looks very nice. He cleaned up very well. There were some disturbing aspects, however. He ruined two hand towels in the bathroom by leaning the shower door on them. After he had re-installed the shower door, I noticed it was not on straight and raised concern about it. He attempted to straighten it, but it was not better. He said he would come back if it did not work out, but I did not ask him to come back for the door because I was upset that he had made new holes in the old peach tiles and didn't want him to do any further damage to these tiles which cannot be replaced. He had already broken one of these, and the extra holes cannot be covered up in any way. After he left, the sink next to the shower was clogged up. When I called him about the sink, he said that he wasn't anywhere near the sink and wasn't responsible for it being clogged up. He had only washed his hands in it. I think he should have taken responsibility for the clogged drain and asked his plumbing colleague to unclog it. Instead, I hired a plumber to fix it, which cost me an extra $160.91. When asked why the sink was clogged, the plumber told me it was quite puzzling, as there were pieces of ground cement in it. I then called the shower door company and ended up having to get a new shower door for $368, as they would have charged me $299 to come out and reinstall the old one. While I am now pleased with the finished product, it took two additional companies and an extra $528.91 to complete it."

"The final product looks good and the Deal I purchased for the service was a good price.  A piece of trim in my bathroom was broken in the tiling process, which at first I was upset about because the workers left without telling me about it.  However, when I asked about it they sent someone to fix it and the employee told me the other guy hadn't told him about it or they would have said something, so it all worked out okay.  I would use this provider again, I appreciate that they took the time to come fix the issue.  The employees worked very hard and were polite.    The owner helped me figure out what to do about some troublesome issues (heater and window in the shower) so I appreciated that.

"He was excellent. He went right to the light switch and figured out quickly what the problem was. In 15 minutes he had it fixed. I would definitely use him again and I would highly recommend him."

Marble Restoration questions, answered by experts

Overall, granite tends to cost more than marble. Prices for each material will fluctuate depending on the source of the stone, your location, shipping costs, and the thickness of the material. Labor to install marble or granite countertops typically ranges from $35 to $45 per hour. Granite and marble tile and slab costs compare as follows:

  • Marble tile: $7–$10

  • Granite tile: $5–$15

  • Marble slab: $25–$60

  • Granite slab: $50–$100

You can use some types of car wax to polish marble floors, as long as the polish is designed for use on marble floors. Read the label and test the polish on a small area of the floor first to see how it interacts with the marble. Car wax can help fill in or buff away small scratches, while polishing the marble for extra shine.

Standing water can lead to surface discoloration if your granite countertops are improperly sealed. However, it’s possible to remove hard water stains with a baking soda paste. Take more care with acidic liquids, such as fruit juice or red wine, which can leave more permanent stains. That’s why it’s so important to reseal these surfaces regularly.

Marble countertops don’t necessarily crack easily. However, they are more susceptible to damage than some other types of countertops. For example, they can develop etching from acidic liquids, such as lemon or tomato juice. Marble can also chip at the edges if you drop a heavy pan. A faux marble countertop isn’t as delicate as the real deal (depending on the material you’re painting over), but it can still get scratched if you’re not careful. Use hot pads and cutting boards to protect the countertop.

It typically costs $1.25 to $4 per linear foot to repair a granite countertop seam, though the costs will vary depending on whether you do it yourself or hire a pro. The costs will also depend on the extent of the seam and whether your countertops have any additional issues. Granite countertop repairs cost $200 to $1,200, depending on the problem.
