Saturday morning, one of Robert's people, Steve, called at 7:55am - he was in our driveway and wanted to let us know he was on the job. He dug down, found the line beyond the broken section was plugged, but above the break (towards the house) was clear. Before long, Steve was hip deep in questionable fluids (hey I'm trying to be diplomatic here!), and discovered that yes, indeed we DO have a clean out! Too bad it was located in our neighbor's yard. Truth be told, it was on our property but the (ehem) gentleman who built our subdivision was of the mind in the late 60s that a simple wave of his arm dictated where the property lines were, and well, that's where the surveyor pins went. ANYway, after getting approval from our neighbor to dig on their side of our fence to find the next section of old, original clay tile pipe that wasn't broken, Steve ended up digging at least another few hours. By hand. In a swamp. With big mosquitos. He made a supplies list and left. A few hours later, he's back at it - running the electric eel on both sides of the break. The hunks of broken clay tile that the original builders laid, patched with concrete and covered with shingles that Steve unearthed were MASSIVE. Once he found a good section (ie: not broken) of clay pipe in the middle of our neighbor's yard, he hit a stopping point. It would need more pipe and fittings to connect different size and makes of pipe - but he was leaving us with a clear running water sewer until the specialty pipe shops opened on Monday. Monday morning, Steve called again from the driveway, ready to finish the job. He put a clean out in our yard (I'm thinking of painting it and giving it a good Appalachian double name, something like Bobby Steve... "Now, [dog name], don't you go out there and pee on Bobby Steve!"), filled in both the neighbor's side of the repair and ours and buttoned everything up. He was finished by noon! We couldn't be more pleased with the work, professionalism and genuine care Smith and Sons (and crew) showed us in what was truly a nasty and embarrassing, yet human, situation. I've told everyone who asks about the true gem we came across thanks to Angie's List. I would never have been able to replace the set now with the same quality as the original at an affordable price. They picked up the furniture in October 2012 with a time frame of having them refinished before Spring. They were finished and delivered at the beginning of January...definitely in time for Spring. Kustom Koatings completely sandblasted the rusted out furniture, then coated and baked the new finish on...just like the original finish. The furniture looks brand new and I am thrilled. The price was unbelievably reasonable for the quantity of furniture that was refinished...12 pieces in all...a 40 inch table with 4 chairs, 2 side chairs, a 3 seat glider, a 5 tier baker's rack, a coffee table and 2 side tables. The owner, Brian, was professional yet friendly. Great work and personable people. I would absolutely use them for any coatings/metal refinishing work I needed done. 2) the 2nd van was packed & ready next morning, but we were then informed it would not arrive until 10 days after the 1st van...one day difference in loading yet 10 days difference in arrival.
3) when I complained that we could not wait an additional 10 days...esp for the bedroom furniture...they said they would get it to us in 3-5 days.4) when the 1st arrived, there were only 2 people on the truck to unload all of it & a local United Van LIne employee to assist for a couple of hours. We had 190 boxes alone, not counting the furniture...and obviously not enough people to properly unload the truck.5) due to the lack of employees, the moving men never assembled the furniture that they had disassembled when packing...dining room tables, coffee tables, lamp tables, lamps. In addition, one bed was assembled backwards...with the headboard clearly marked that it was the BACK of the headboard facing front.6)because of the lack of personnel we were stuck with approx 150 boxes to dispose off at our own expense.7) when I complained, on-line, to United Van Lines - the national company, their response was that they were not involved since this was a local, in-state move and was not a United Van Lines concern since it"derived no benefit from, had no involvement with, noir has any authority over your move with Armstrong Relocation"8) I called United Van Lines on 6/4/2012 and spoke with Heather Pearson. I wanted to know how a move from Louisiana to Ohio is considered an instate, local move...the documents & contracts were all United Van Lines stationary, all the people involved in packing, etc wore United Van Lines shirts and the van was clearly marked United Van Lines. After reviewing more details on the move, Ms. Pearson agreed that this move did come under United Van Lines purview & would follow up on just what happened and get back to me.9) Left voice mail with Ms Pearson on 6/12/2012 requesting update on status of my complaint since I had not heard from her.10) Left voice mail with Ms Pearson on 6/21/2012 wanting to know why I have not heard any response from her and that I found the entire situation to be extremely unprofessional, esp considering this was a national company.11) Today is June 26, 2012...no response from anyone.12) Though there had been damage to some property from the move, I only found out after the fact that I only had 20 days to file a claim...took me more than 20 days to just unpack boxes & reassemble furniture!!!!!13) we are considering filing a claim in small claims court for a partial refund, since the contract was never fully completed. Pool Table Assembly reviews from real Angi homeowners in Proctorville, OH
My home is on a hill. We have an (unused) inground swimming pool. If any work was to be done in the back yard, it would have to be done by hand. There's just no way to get heavy equipment or even a pick-up truck into the yard without possibly crushing the web of drains and pipes and lines...

FAQs for pool table assembly projects in Proctorville, OH
The average cost to hire a handyman ranges from about $40 to $140 per hour. Average project cost ranges between $180 and $700, but the cost per hour and per project depends heavily on the type, size, and complexity of the project. The pro’s experience level and your location also factor into how much a handyman charges per hour or per project. You can also expect to pay higher rates or additional fees for emergency services, or around periods of high customer demand, like holidays.
Tipping a handyman is not a requirement or necessarily expected, as they should build a fair wage into the price of the job. However, some people will tip a handyman around $10 to $20 per hour or the equivalent of a day’s pay, depending on the size of the job. But it’s up to your discretion. There are no set rules for tipping a handyman service, but if they did a great job and you’re so inclined to tip, it’s encouraged and will likely be received with thanks.
Do you have any before and after photos of your work?
How long have you been doing this kind of work?
Do you clean up and dispose of waste when the job is finished?
Yes, you should hire a handyman who’s licensed, certified, and insured, if possible. States have different requirements for handyman licensing, registration, and certifications. If licensing is required in your area, you may pay more for a licensed handyman with experience than one who is not licensed or certified, but you’re likely to get a better end result for your project. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local handymen guidelines.
