"Ken did a fantastic job! I had Ken refurbish my Corian kitchen countertops after a mistake made using Acetone Nail Polish remover. Very professional, on time and detailed with his work. The clean up was terrific...The countertops look brand new! Thank you, Ken! A job well done!"

"They are the best in countertop fabricating and installation. They did granite countertops and full sheet quartz backslash. 53 sq ft of counters and 56 sq ft of backslash. It all lined up perfectly with NO seams. We did scuff the backslash instilling the range hood and they came out fixed it at no charge. I was expecting to pay since it was my fault. If you have a project big or small they are the company you choose. Great, great crew and great company owner who is at your place the entire time they are doing the measurements & instruction."

"The tub looks amazing! I wish I had taken some before and after pictures, because it came out looking so good. They removed the old finish, which involved quite a lot of sanding and grinding, and reglazed the inside and outside of the tub. The tub is super smooth looking and has been very durable. Cleaning it has even been easier and it takes longer to get dirty.

Removing the tub wasn't an option because of its weight and size, and I am so glad that Tom and Travis Horvath were able to reglaze it to look like new. We now have a tub that will withstand the test of time. The price was good. They were able to work around my schedule. They are very polite and provide an excellent product. They cleaned up after themselves. I thought I would have dust everywhere, but they did a great job of keeping it clean.

My many thanks to them!"

"American granite came out originally for a crack in our granite kitchen countertops. They did such a good job of fixing it, we had them clean and seal our whole kitchen and bathroom vanity. I was very impressed at the difference it made in the overall look and feel of the stone. My 10 year old countertops look like new again. I would recommend them to anyone who needs their granite countertops repaired or restored."

Countertops and Backsplashes questions, answered by experts

Laminate countertops can last between 10 and 30 years, though a more common estimate is 10 to 15 years. The exact lifespan depends heavily on usage and how well they are maintained. Because they are a budget-friendly option, they are more prone to scorching and scratches than other materials. You can extend their lifespan with daily maintenance using a soft cleaner and regular sealing.

With the cost of kitchen countertops ranging from $1,900 to $4,300, you’ll want to choose a countertop material that’s durable and cost-effective. Marble countertops will come in on the high-end, whereas corian, quartz, stainless steel, and granite will run in the middle range. Butcher block and laminate are the most budget-friendly—and many DIYers choose to install butcher block on their own because it’s one of the more accessible countertops.

With proper maintenance, concrete countertops can last for decades, with a life expectancy of 50 years or more. At a minimum, they should last 20 years before major issues arise. Their longevity depends on the quality of materials, proper installation, and consistent care. Because concrete is porous, it is prone to cracking and staining. Regular maintenance, including resealing, waxing, and repairing any chips or cracks, is essential to preserve its lifespan.

Butcher block countertops are generally more affordable than quartz countertops. The average quartz countertop costs around $4,500, while the average butcher block countertop costs around $3,750. However, high-end butcher blocks with custom features can negate the savings, since certain woods come with a higher per square foot cost.

While onyx is among the most expensive countertop stones, it’s not always the priciest. It is generally cheaper than Calacatta marble, which is highly sought-after for its rarity and bold veining. However, onyx still commands a premium price due to its unique translucency and delicate nature.
