"We have them provide house cleaning once a month for over a year now. Typically we have the same person coming every time. She is very friendly and detailed in her cleaning. If there are special things that need to be addressed she can handle that, it may take some preparation from me, but she can handle that: clean the oven, clean an area rug requires cleaning supplies provided by me. The only negative is that she might bring along a trainee which distracts her from taking care of everything herself. During a busy season, like around holidays, there might be a small team working together. That seems to work well, also. Typical amount of time for a cleaning is 3-4 hours.

"Went very well. The fellow showed up on time and was very cordial.  Went right to work after I showed him the various areas needing to be cleaned.  Carpets were in good shape but the heavier traffic areas like the steps definitely showed dirt and flattened out areas where our small dog likes to sleep.  After he was done with the steps,  they looked good as new!
On top of that the carpets were completely dry after I came home from work.
Well done, will use them again.

Carpet Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Steam cleaning your furniture is a popular method used by most professional services. It calls for special equipment that uses steam and suction to pull dirt, dust, pet hair, pet dander, and other debris out of upholstery and other materials. It’s a great way to get out stains and messes gently without risking damage to the fabric. It is covered by the professional furniture upholstery cleaner’s rate average of $150 to $250.

It takes 24 to 72 hours for water to evaporate out of the carpet if you use a wet vac and towels to soak up the majority of the moisture and then run blower fans and dehumidifiers to speed up the evaporation process. The total length of time for the water to evaporate out of the carpet depends on how wet the carpet is, the type of carpet, and the thickness of the carpet.

No, there’s no limit on how much you can tip your carpet cleaning pro. If you couldn’t prepare for your carpet cleaner beforehand, you might feel inclined to give them a large tip for their troubles. However, there's no pressure to tip that much, and most homeowners typically tip 10% to 20% of the total bill.

Typically, you should avoid using a traditional carpet cleaner on Oriental rugs because the chemical makeup of carpet cleaners can damage the rug’s natural fibers. You can, however, opt for a neutral pH cleaner, which can do a decent job of cleaning the carpet without damaging it. Always test whatever cleaning solution you use on a small, hidden spot of your rug first. That way, if any damage occurs, it doesn’t totally ruin your rug.

If your couch has a non-washable upholstery, you’ll likely need to use dry cleaning products rather than foam or liquid cleaners. If that’s the case, we strongly recommend hiring a professional upholstery cleaner to get the job done. Some dry cleaning products are dangerous to use, and those with abrasive chemicals can destroy certain types of fabric. A professional furniture cleaner will know which to use and in what quantity for a safe, deep clean.
