"Both projects went well.  The technician arrived on time, coordinated the sewer-jet arrival and cleaned up after hmself.  Since it was later in the day, he could not finish the gas line installation, but set a time to return and was again prompt and efficient.
The only problem during these projects was when he attempted to power wash my sump pump, the water jet broke a notch where it attaches to the rod.   After determining that the warehouse did not have one in stock, he promptly ordered it from the supplier and completed the repair the following week.  He just left his service sump pump here until that time.  I appreciated his efforts.
I was very pleased with the overall quality and professionalism of the work and would definitely use Mr. Rooter again."

"They did a great job. They solved all the problems I had with the chimney and it’s been working perfectly ever since. They also fixed a problem on the roof around the chimney; they replaced the wood around the chimney with a material that would never rot, so they fixed it even better than it was before. It took them a couple of days to do the work. They took care of all the cleanup as well. We've been real happy with them."

"In late summer/early fall 2008, water damage to an inside wall next to the chimney lead to the discovery that the chimney had deteriorated to the point that moisture was getting in through the chimny liner. There was agreement from multiple contractors that the chimney really needed to be torn down to the roof and rebuilt as any other repair would be temporary at best. Bob Thompson not only provided the best explanation of what was going on with the chimney and how to fix it, he also provided the best cost estimate. The challenge with a competent contractor with good prices is that their schedules are always booked solid but we got on their schedule understanding that there would be some uncertainty around the exact date. Due to a series of uncontrollable events not associated to Thompson's Masonry, the schedule got slipped out even further than expected and unfortunately was delayed until this spring. Bob contacted us when they started work in the spring and we got on his early schedule. Since they are working around weather in the early spring it was difficult to nail down to a specific date. I received a call on a Thursday morning indicating they were finishing a job and would like to do our chimney next which was last minute but worked fine for us. They arrived in the early afternoon as promised, set up the scaffolding and began the tear down of the chimney. Becasue of weather they could not continue on Friday but did come on the weekend (both Saturday AND Sunday) and completed the job. In addition to the Chimney rebuild they also threw in some tuck pointing of brick steps that had deteriorated over the winter. The new chimney looks great (great job matching the old brick!) and they completed the work quickly, efficienty, professionally, and with great pride and their price was excellent for the size of the job. When they left, everything was cleaned up and in order. I would absolutely use them again for any masonry work."

Gas Logs questions, answered by experts

Safety steps include proper vent installation, connector tightness, and leak testing. A safe environment must be maintained throughout.

Built-in gas grills typically have a life span of 10 to 15 years. However, their longevity can vary based on quality, usage frequency, climate conditions, and maintenance routines. High-quality models made from durable materials tend to last longer. Additionally, regular cleaning, covering the grill when not in use, and conducting routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning burners and replacing worn-out parts can extend its life. A well-maintained built-in gas grill can provide excellent performance and memorable cooking experiences for a decade or more, making it a worthwhile investment for outdoor cooking enthusiasts.

The most significant benefit of having a gas grill over a propane grill is that you never run out of fuel unless there’s an outage in your area, which is rare. Unlike with a propane grill, you’ll never need to haul tanks back and forth to a local fill station, and you’ll never find yourself unable to use your grill because you forgot to refill your tanks. Gas grills also burn slightly cleaner than propane grills, and natural gas costs significantly less than propane, meaning it’s more affordable to run your grill.

On average, a gas grill can last from five to 15 years. The exact lifespan depends on several factors, including the brand and quality of the grill, frequency of use, and whether the gas line is buried or above ground. With proper maintenance and care, such as regular deep cleanings to remove food, grease, and carbon deposits, a grill's life can be extended. Protecting the grill from the elements with a cover can also prevent rust and reduce the need for repairs. Most grill manufacturers also offer extended warranties, which vary in coverage and terms.

The difference between a built-in and regular grill is installation and design. A built-in grill is integrated into an outdoor kitchen or structure, often within a countertop or island. It is a permanent fixture. A regular grill is standalone, portable, or cart-mounted, allowing mobility and versatility in placement. Built-in grills are typically larger with more cooking space, while regular grills come in various sizes. Built-in grills are favored for creating a custom outdoor cooking area, while regular grills provide convenience and flexibility.
