"I am sure that all positive reviews for this company are fake. Nothing that was promised to me was delivered. My siding project is still ongoing for over 1 month. Was told that it would be done in week. Had one rain day. They have system like this: 1) sales person who never installed anything he will promise you things that obviously are not true, 2) crew that is subcontracted but not Gunner, mine was driving for over 2 hours away, 3) person who oversees the project but has little control over anything, no supply, doesn't know the crew, crew does not listen to him, main office does not listen to him, 4) main office does not reply to you. They just tell me to talk to project manager who has no control. So you understand that if there are any issue you are on your own. Quality or work is not good. Many times I had to point to the crew what's wrong, planks are broken yet they were still installing it, caulking is done they way that I can do it better, they cut wires to awning etc"

It depends on whether you’re looking at residential or commercial buildings. For residential buildings, the 2018 International Residential Code asks for a maximum riser (or rise) height of 7 3/4 inches and a minimum tread depth (or run) of 10 inches.

For fixed stairs in commercial buildings, OSHA requires a rise between 6 and 7.5 inches, with a run between 10 and 14 inches. The standards are different for spiral staircases.

Although many types of railing can be fairly easy to install, cable and rope railing systems are probably the easiest. All you need to do is string them through and secure them. Barring those choices, panel railings that are pre-cut to the required size can also be very simple to DIY.

Hard materials like wood or vinyl flooring on stairs can look great but can also be slippery, posing a risk of injury. On the other hand, carpet often has much more traction, is a lot softer and cushioned, and is still aesthetically pleasing. With all this in mind, carpet is the ideal choice for stairs. 

Because a railing for concrete stairs is a safety feature, some locations require a permit to do the work, even for a residential setting. Check with your local building inspector to see if you need a permit. In most locations, the residential railing height code requires the handrail to be 34 to 38 inches off the ground. If you buy a concrete stair railing kit, the manufacturer almost certainly will ensure it fits this height requirement.

Pricing specifics depend on where you’re shopping, but treated wood usually tends to be the most inexpensive railing type. However, treated wood may be less durable than some other choices, like aluminum or composite railing. Though saving money upfront is definitely attractive, it’s important to remember that your railing is an investment that will continue to evolve over time. Wood is very high maintenance, so opting for another material to save money on maintenance might be less costly in the long run.
