"Most of what we do is full tear-out and replacement. We remove the old cracked, settling, or spalling concrete, rebuild the base the right way, and pour new. We also handle driveway extensions and widening, aprons and curb cuts, stamped and decorative concrete, and concrete repair.\n\nOur crews have poured more than 38,000 residential concrete projects. Every job gets a dedicated project coordinator, up-front pricing with no surprise change orders, and a final walkthrough before we call it finished. Licensed and insured.\n\nNeed a new driveway? "The experience with Immaculate Image Landscape LLC for driveway pavers was outstanding. They were incredibly responsive, scheduling the project within two weeks, and the crew arrived precisely as planned. The work was completed efficiently, in less than two days, and the attentiveness, including carefully relocating and replanting the bush, was impressive. Excellent service has already led to recommendations to neighbors."

"He did EXCELLENT. My garden had not been touch in probably ten years. He got it together, cleaned it up nicely and now I am ready to grow veggies. He cleaned up everything around my home, cut down trees and bushes and made it look clean and beautiful. He took my property value up by probably 15-20k by doing what he did. I will use him every time. Thank you!"

"Hastings Concrete did an excellent job and I highly recommend them. My concrete driveway was 25 years old and needed to be replaced. The Hastings team came on a Wednesday to tear out the old driveway. On Thursday, they poured the new driveway and on Friday they cut the expansion joints. The installation team was on time, very professional and did an excellent job cleaning up. Our new driveway looks great! Thank you."

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

Building a road on a slope requires careful planning and will normally require a drainage system underneath to prevent flooding and damage to the road over time. Your professional may lengthen your road to create switchbacks if the slope directly to your home is too steep, as there are regulations for maximum road slope. The drainage system will help prevent runoff from the higher side of the slope from damaging the asphalt or concrete. Keep in mind that building a road on a slope isn’t a good DIY project, as a lot can go wrong.

Asphalt dries and cures best between 50 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit. This range allows moisture to evaporate quickly without causing the asphalt to cool too fast, which can negatively affect the drying process. However, keep in mind that other weather conditions can also affect curing and drying times, such as precipitation and humidity.

Common alternatives to a gravel driveway include concrete, asphalt, brick, stone pavers, and permeable pavers. Concrete and asphalt are generally the most affordable options. However, concrete can be prone to cracking in cold climates, while asphalt may soften in areas with high heat and direct sun exposure. For enhanced curb appeal, brick, stone, and permeable pavers are popular choices, though their installation can be more expensive due to intricate designs. Stone pavers offer a natural look and are sometimes installed with gravel around them. Both permeable pavers and brick driveways provide excellent drainage, which helps prevent flooding and reduce water runoff.

An ideal driveway gradient is between 2% and 5%. Anything lower than 1% or higher than 15% can cause problems for your car or property. A driveway with less than a 1% slope increases your likelihood of flooding and water damage, while a driveway with a 15% grade or higher can be too steep for safe traveling.

The dimensions of a driveway apron vary based on local building codes, the width of your driveway, and the distance between the driveway and the road. On average, aprons range from 12 to 24 feet wide and 8 to 18 feet long. Typically, the end of the apron connected to the driveway matches its width—such as 10 to 12 feet for a single-car driveway—while the end at the street flares out to allow cars to turn in and out more easily. In some areas, you may not be responsible for the portion of the apron that extends beyond the sidewalk, but this depends on local laws.
