"Bob did an excellent job. The shower area looks great. He was very professional, courteous, prompt, EXTREMELY clean (plus taking off his shoes every time), and performed everything as he described. However, two things didn't go perfect. We did discuss a soap dish/shelf at the time of the estimate but he didn't remember it (could have been alleviated with a written estimate). He picked up and installed a shelf. Lastly, I added the request of the light fixtures above the shower area the day he started the job, not at the time of the estimate. While it worked out fine in the end, it did set the final completion back somewhat. His use of a consultant to check his work, while noble that he wanted to make sure it was absolutely perfect, took more than a week. We had repeated calls back and forth, as he had a hard time scheduling the consultant. Again, not necessarily his fault but it didn't go smoothly. We would unreservedly recommend Bob and would use him again."

"We've used Jaime about 10 times. . . . .we don't feel there is anyone else worth calling in the area, can do it all. Ran new electrical box to wall and installed electric fireplace in our finished basement side. Jaime had to get creative as the wall was discovered to be solid and not regular drywall. But he does it like it's nothing. Thanks again."

"I was having drainage problems with my downspouts on the back of my house not draining correctly. Since I bought a house almost 50 years old I had no idea where the water should come out and why it was backing up. Designs of Akron-Canton came in assessed my problem gave me an idea of what should be done what a great price. The owner Kevan was very professional, and very easy to talk and the quote seemed very reasonable so honestly I just didn’t have the time or patience to keep having people come in, so I just went with them and I’m glad I did. they did a great job and they did the job in a timely manner and best of all they didn’t leave a mess around my house."

"Mike showed-up on time and got started right away.  He removed the old flex hose that was leaking, which explains why there was a hole in the garage ceiling.  He then installed metal piping and cut a hole on the exterior house wall to vent the new piping.  The original flex hose went to the garage roof soffit and shouldn't have.  The job went well and so far, everything works fine.

"This is the third time that Municipal Services has done work for me. The first time was in 2010 when they raised the tees and performed some other sewer work that needed to be done. In 2011, I had the basement waterproofed and have had no water or moisture in the basement until the flood of July 20, 2013. This was due to sewer backup which resulted in 6-8 inches of water in the basement. So I decided to have a backflow preventer put in. I watched everything that they did. They answered all my questions before, during, and after it was done. I had done some previous research and talked to some of my neighbors before I made the decision. I am pleased with their job and especially am pleased with how they repaired and cleaned my yard. In no time, it should look as good as it did before.

Install Garbage Disposal questions, answered by experts

No, you do not need a garbage disposal to have a dishwasher. A dishwasher will work without one, and while it's rare to see a home with a dishwasher that doesn't have a disposal, it is possible. The two appliances pair well and are often installed together because a disposal simplifies meal cleanup.

However, your dishwasher should not be used as a replacement for a garbage disposal. Subjecting it to continuous food leftovers can lead to major clogs. If you choose not to install a garbage disposal, you should thoroughly rinse your plates or scrape excess food into the trash or a compost pile before loading them into the dishwasher to prevent plumbing issues.

These appliances do unscrew, but you need to disconnect everything properly when you replace your garbage disposal. Make sure you shut the power off to the area first and check that it’s off with a voltage detector. Disconnect the main drain line and P-trap, and then disconnect the dishwasher drain line if you have one connected. You can then unscrew your garbage disposal using a disposal wrench. Just make sure you disconnect the electrical lines before removing your appliance.

The main issue with garbage disposals is clogging. This can mean a clogging of the pipes that expel the food along with water, or a clogging of the mechanical parts themselves. The problem lies in the solution because you can’t easily see clogs if they’re inside the system, and reaching in to dislodge stuck items is a risky proposal. Call a pro and ask what they would do, but if you can’t see the clog easily, and running the unit won’t free it, you need to let a professional handle the fix.

It’s one thing that helps, alongside vinegar and baking soda. Ice acts as an exfoliant, helping to lift off any bits of food stuck on the disposal blades.

These appliances certainly increase the number of things allowed down the drain, but they’re not foolproof. There are several items you shouldn’t put in your garbage disposal, according to manufacturers and technicians. Don’t put coffee grounds down the drain. The same goes for eggshells, potato peels, hard foods, onion skins, and any dry, expandable food. Most importantly, never put grease or oils down the drain.
