"I needed a few jobs done here, I can 't remember how I got HHC to come to my home. Anyway, he did an excellent job fixing my door and taking down an old standalone shower in my basement. I definitely would recommend HHC. He was very polite. Mary Mathias Baltimore, Ohio"

"My house did not have a dishwasher before so after my dad and I installed one the next question was building a cabinet around it. Nick was very responsive and courteous. He came out on a Wednesday to give a free estimate and the job was completed by 2 pm on Thursday. He was quick, efficient and respectful of my house."

"William A. Was very polite and professional texted me to let me know he was on his way, he also came prepared with his tools, he was very pleasant and knew what he was doing. I felt a good connection with him, and if and when I need another job done, I would kindly like to request him again. He did a great job on installing the no dig fence panel! Unable to send photos file was too large. Thanks Happy Customer!😀"

"Great team who are willing to go the extra mile! Very friendly and very importantly responsive. Willing to work with you in a variety of ways and have the knowledge and expertise I was looking for. They provided great guidance and suggestions on certain items that I was unsure of. Overall, very pleased with their work, professionalism, and flexibility. They treated me and my family like they would treat their own, and would recommend to anyone not looking for a “big-box” company who treats you like a number. Will certainly call them again for future work and have recommended them already to friends and family!"

"Christine was the reason I hired this company. She is a true designer, and made great suggestions that none of the other companies came up with. I am very happy with the results."

Cabinet Contractors questions, answered by experts

It depends on your ceiling height. Wall cabinets are typically mounted 54 inches from the floor. So, if you have eight-foot ceilings, you’ll need 42-inch-high wall cabinets to fill the gap. And you’ll need 54-inch cabinets if you have nine-foot ceilings. But standard-sized cabinets don’t come in 54 inches, so you'll need to stack various sizes together. And, if you have ceilings higher than nine feet, it’s a good idea to have custom stacked cabinets made to fill your space.

The designs are different enough that a conversion would mean more or less fully replacing cabinets to switch between the two. However, if you really like the frameless look but you have face frame cabinets, you may be able to mimic the style by replacing your cabinet doors with full overlay ones.

Most built-in bookshelves are custom-made to fit the available space and meet a homeowner's needs. This level of customization allows you to design the exact look and functionality you desire. However, you can buy cheaper, prefabricated bookshelves to slot into your desired space. However, prefabricated designs might not slot in as snuggly or need to be adjusted to fit.

Whether you install flooring before or after kitchen cabinets depends primarily on the type of flooring you are using. For materials like hardwood, tile, and sheet flooring, the best practice is to install the flooring first. This ensures the cabinets are installed at the correct height and on a stable surface. However, you should not install cabinets on top of floating floors, such as laminate or luxury vinyl plank (LVP). These types of flooring need room to expand and contract with temperature and humidity changes. Placing heavy cabinets on top can restrict this movement, potentially causing the floor to buckle and making the cabinets unstable. For floating floors, install the cabinets first and then lay the flooring up to them. Other reasons to consider installing cabinets before the flooring include saving money on materials (since you won't need flooring under the cabinets) and avoiding potential damage to your new floor during cabinet installation. Additionally, installing cabinets directly on the subfloor might prevent voiding your flooring's warranty.

Any of your garage shelves should be able to hold heavier loads, but it’s best to place heavier items on middle shelves. The only reason for this is to prevent injury—lifting heavy loads from down low requires squatting or bending over, which can lead to back injury, and lifting heavy loads off of high shelves in the garage can be especially dangerous if you drop them.
