"Do n's carpet restoration still uses the shampoo method of cleaning the carpet. Although that means the carpet is wet a little longer than others, it is worth it as shampooing seems to do a little better. My basement carpet looked like it needed to be replaced due to the grime. But Don was able to make the carpet shine. Worth whatever the cost for that type of work."

"These guys were professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and were able to work within my budget. New paint look great and I couldnt be happier with the work they did. I will definitely hire them for my next project, which will be carpet and vinyl plank on the floors. They were also very helpful when it came to choosing which product I should buy for my floors and helped me pick out the perfect color match, which will make the next phase of this project so much easier. 10 out 10, looking forward to hiring them again!"

"Overall, it was very good. They came out within days of having purchased the deal. We already had an appointment. I think they called us the same day that we made the purchase. There was no additional charge. The best part is that our dryer now functions noticeably better. The dryer was running hot and it took multiple cycles to get things dry. After the cleaning, things got dried in one cycle just as it is supposed to. The worst part was that the technician tracked dirt up and down the basement stairs in his work boots. When he first came in, he took his shoes off and he basically walked around in his socks, but then later in the cleaning process, he had on his work boots. I don't know if he had been out in the backyard where he was actually cleaning the vent or if it was at some other point. He had to bring the equipment down to the basement and at some time, he tracked dirt up and down the stairs, but the cleaning itself was fine. It wasn't like loose dirt. I could see his footprints on the carpet, and it wasn't until after he left that I noticed that it wasn't just the way that the nap of the carpet lays that had discoloration. It came out with a carpet cleaning and I own a machine to do that. That was the only knack against them. I didn't go with the cheapest offer that Angie's List had on the site. I went basically with the name that I knew so that if there was a problem, I know Lowe's. I know that they are not a fly-by-night operation. The dryer is noticeably cleaner and working better. I don't know about the ventilation system but we haven't had any issues. When other service providers come into the house like the cable guys, they have plastic booties that they put over their feet. This guy took his shoes off and then later didn't take his shoes off."

Carpet Installation questions, answered by experts

In most cases, laminate flooring is better for people with dust or other allergies as laminate is easier to clean. Carpet can trap pollen and other allergens, allowing them to be kicked up into the air again with foot traffic. Consult your flooring specialist about the best types of carpet or laminate flooring to use based on your household member’s needs.

Carpet padding costs an average of $510 to purchase and install in a 225-square-foot room. The price can range from as low as $170 to as much as $850, depending on the brand, the thickness, and the labor cost. Although carpet padding will increase the overall cost of carpet installation, it also helps the carpet hold up longer, reduces noise in the room, and provides more insulation.

Carpet density refers to how closely together the fibers of a carpet are stitched into the carpet backing, with values ranging from 1,000 to 7,000. A carpet density value of 3,000 or higher is considered best for most homes, especially in high-traffic areas, such as a living room or dining room. If you’re comparing two carpets made of the same material, a higher carpet density can indicate better durability and longevity. However, carpet density is only one of many factors that can help you determine a carpet’s quality.

Yes, you can technically make a crawl space liveable, but the only way to do so is by converting it into a basement. While some crawl spaces are big enough to walk through and store large items, they lack appropriate insulation and space to be liveable.

Avoid plush, high-pile, or thick carpets on your stairs because they can increase the risk of slipping and wear down quickly in busy homes. Also, ensure the carpet you install is stain-resistant, particularly if you select a light color.
