"Excellent work was performed. We had more prep work for subfloors than initially anticipated but the guys were very thorough making sure they had everything up to their and our standards. The floors came out great and we were extremely happy to work with the crew. Very friendly and caring while doing the work as well."

"We had an upstairs water leak destroy our downstairs bathroom ceiling. I contacted Benjamin of Christendom Construction and set a time for him to come out and look at the work that needed done. He came out and we scheduled the work and he came on the day he said he would, which doesn’t always happen but he was a man of his word. We couldn’t have been more pleased with the outcome— it looked better than ever and as if we hadn’t had any damage at all!. He is excellent at what he does and I could not recommend Christendom Construction any more highly than I do. You will be very pleased with the integrity and craftsmanship of their work."

Flooring Installation FAQs, answered by experts

A stair runner is a length of carpet installed in the center of the staircase, either on top of or in between hard materials installed on the staircase. The carpet doesn’t cover the entire length of the steps, making stair runners an aesthetic choice. Thankfully, if you want hard materials on your stairs to show through, a stair runner will make it safer, as the primary area you walk on will be less slippery thanks to the carpet.

If you have a concrete subfloor, you must secure the carpet padding with adhesive or glue. However, if you have a wooden subfloor, use staples instead. Removing a glued-down carpet can be difficult and time-consuming, so it’s best to avoid glue when possible.

Vomit contains organic fluids along with whatever else comes out with it. When left without cleaning, vomit, and its odor can reach deep into carpet fibers and become very difficult to remove without a deep cleaning. In some cases, the combination can cause permanent carpet staining.

Berber is the most expensive type of carpet, followed by textured carpet. Berber costs $3 to $20 per square foot, and textured carpet ranges from $1 to $12 per square foot. Berber features fibers arranged in short, thick loops, making it extraordinarily durable. The most expensive carpet material is wool, followed by acrylic, Triexta, and cotton. Wool costs $4 to $20 per square foot and is a beautiful, luxurious, and durable material. Acrylic, Triexta, and cotton range from $2 to $8 per square foot.

You can buy inexpensive kitchen flooring off the shelf at most home improvement stores with the best prices offered by big-box chain stores. Be aware, though, that not all flooring materials are suitable for DIY installation. Most flooring contractors can buy your flooring at a discount, so be sure to check with your contractor before buying your flooring materials.
