"Refloor did an AMAZING job from start to finish. The design consultant (Blake), project coordinator (Retina), installation coordinator (Carley), the installer (Marcelo)- and his helper (Jay), were all very professional and excellent at their jobs. Iâ d also like to give the installer, Marcelo, a BIG shoutoutâ ¦ he could not have been any nicer, considerate, or efficient. He did an EXCELLENT job at installing our floors and included us with all decision making that popped up along the way. You can tell that he takes pride in his work and that he really wants the customers to be happy with it too. And we are HAPPY! The floors look AMAZING. We are impressed and glad that we chose Refloor. We HIGHLY recommend them. Thanks Refloor!"

"The guys did an awesome job on my sofa, chair & area rug. Everything was covered in a layer of dust from the gravel company blasting across the road & the dog's muddy paws. Definitely worth every penny because my sofa looks brand new again."

"I was very impressed with Sentri Homes - their customer service was excellent. They sent a subcontractor to install some vinyl laminate in my bathroom and he ended up getting glue all over the carpet in our bedroom. The sub ended up ghosting both me and Sentri, leaving me stuck with a ruined carpet. Sentri stuck with me for over a month to get the carpet replaced with the identical original and to get the vinyl job 100% completed. The carpet was a Home Depot exclusive and Sentri handled everything with them. I will be using Sentri for a much bigger renovation I have coming up soon, because I know that they will make sure everything gets done right no matter what problems come up. The vinyl looks great too."

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

In most cases, you do not need to put padding or underlayment under carpet tiles. Unlike traditional carpet, which requires a separate pad, carpet tiles are designed to be installed directly onto a firm subfloor like plywood, concrete, or tile. Many carpet tiles come with a built-in underlay and attach with peel-and-stick adhesive, double-sided carpet tape, or glue. For a more comfortable, cushioned feel, especially in residential settings, you can opt for padded carpet tiles that have a thicker underlay attached. While it's generally not recommended to install a separate pad, a compact underlayment might be used in some situations, though this typically requires professional installation. An acoustic underlay may also be considered in commercial spaces or multi-level homes where noise reduction is a priority.

If you also need to know how to fill the gap between the floor and the baseboard, it's best to use a flexible, paintable latex caulk. Clean the area thoroughly to remove dust and debris. Then, apply a smooth bead of caulk along the gap using a caulking gun, and use a caulk-smoothing tool to press and smooth it into place. If the gap is large, you may need to insert backer rod, such as a foam filler, before caulking. Once dry, paint the caulk to match the baseboard for a clean, seamless look.

You can mop bamboo floors, but exercise caution to protect the material from excess moisture, which can seep into the bamboo, causing it to warp and well. Moisten a microfiber mop and wring it out until it’s just damp, or use a pH-neutral cleaner, as this will prevent damage to the bamboo fibers. Avoid harsh chemicals, like traditional floor cleaners. After cleaning, wipe the floor dry.

Avoid steam cleaning unsealed hardwood, vinyl, and laminate floors unless the manufacturer explicitly states that a steam mop can be used.

Many doorways feature two door jambs. These are installed on both sides of a doorway to prevent the door from swinging too far. Door jambs usually stop the door at 180 degrees when closed.  A doorway floor transition sits between the door jambs on the floor, helping to create a safer and more aesthetically pleasing transition from one flooring type to the next.
