After I called the communication was better. I thought they would be installed in October, but that didn't happen until Dec. 16th. I wasn't planning on this happening in a snow storm in Dec. Shield Exteriors Metal RoofingThe material was delivered and put where we asked it to be left and shortly afterwards 3 nice guys showed up and laid out the material and went to work. They did a wonderful job and were done in about 5 hours for the whole roof. They cleaned everything up and had the pile of trash for the next man to come and pick it up the same day. There was nothing at all for us to get rid of. Everybody involved with this has been very nice to deal with in person and on the phone.- Cindy L.

From the moment we put out feelers to the Metal Roofing Alliance, Distinctive was in contact - yet there was absolutely no pressure. We took time to research metal types/styles before asking for an appointment to get a quote. Bruce became a fountain of information, fully answering all questions and discussing options in roofing styles as well as how to overcome ventilation issues in our attic. We found Bruce to be one of the most helpful and professional contractors with whom we have ever dealt. Distinctive quoted the lowest price for a quality metal roof with hidden fasteners (we did not want exposed fasteners as commonly used on other homes around us). Even at that stage when all we had to do was sign the contract, there was absolutely no pressure to do so. We ultimately decided not to install a metal roof, but it was certainly not a strike against this contractor. Due to an extensive amount of upcoming concrete work, the cost difference between reinstalling asphalt shingles vs. installing a metal roof was simply too great. If not for the cost of having a concrete driveway installed in the same year, we would have proceeded with Distinctive - we were sad that we had to forego a metal roof.

The salesperson David was very honest and had no interest in upselling. He strongly advised against any interior drains for my basement, and he instead recommended an exterior drain called HydroBlox for my backyard. The estimate for the HydroBlox was $3,400. The installation occurred a few weeks later. Three employees used a machine to dig a trench in my backyard, and then because of utility lines, they hand-dug another trench in my side yard. They installed the pieces of HydroBlox and covered them with dirt. I expect the HydroBlox to properly drain the water from my yard, but if they do not, then I will update my review in the future.

Once the green light for the project was given, our fencing project was underway. Doug had the utility company come check for buried utilities, and had materials delivered the morning his crew was starting. The guys set the footers on Day One and built the fence on Day Two. They cleaned up all their building supplies plus disposed of the fences that were removed. Not only do we love the fence, our neighbors do as well. The guys worked around trees, tons of tree roots, were respectful of the neighbor's garden, and cared about the quality of their work.
