"When shopping for a blacktop paver company, go with the best negotiated price (there is always wiggle room in price) because they all promise the same thing and from what I ve seen - they all do the same job. Do not expect any custom work repairing your drive other than leveling before application even though you re led to believe this would be done. My finished drive looks good and is a vast improvement over the original BUT I have great concerns over the side drainage issues that were not corrected as promised. Swartz paving did a great job at paving our drive - on time, friendly, professional, and affordable. They won the contract over other companies because of price and promised additional attention to drainage. The latter was poorly addressed."

The most common causes of sunken pavers are poor base preparation and insufficient compaction. The problem could also be how your pavers were installed. If the soil beneath your patio or walkway wasn't compacted, it will pull pavers down as it settles. In most cases, you don’t need a permit to repave your driveway, although some exceptions exist. If you’re widening your driveway and plan on widening the apron as well, you’ll usually need a permit from the Department of Transportation in your area. This permit costs between $50 and $300 in most cases. Most municipalities will also require a certified and insured contractor do the work relating to the apron and curb cut.
