"Ryan and Randy were very professional and punctual. They definitely care about the customer and go out of their way to ensure the job is done to the customer's satisfaction. I would highly recommend them and would hire them again in the future."

Thrive Home Interiors provides home decorating consultation and full service interior decorating. Services encompass room layout, furniture, rugs, window treatments, wall hangings, accents, etc. I take a custom approach to every space to meet your budget and decorating challenges with fresh solutions.

"I loved working with Bethany and would do so (and plan to) again in the future. She was very open to ideas but also provided the appropriate amount of guidance and direction to make the process efficient and enjoyable. She provided a consultation service for the paint colors for my first and second floor and decorated our family room and foyer. She was responsive and easy to work with. I am a working mom with 3 young children so my time is limited for these types of things. She was great at providing the right number of options for me to review and sending ideas for layout. She saved me a great deal of time and stress and our family is very appreciative!"

Furniture Refinishing questions, answered by experts

Yes, many custom builders offer finishing and upholstery options tailored to your style.

The cost to refinish furniture varies significantly depending on the type of furniture, its material, and its age, but the average cost is about $600 per piece. For larger pieces or antique pieces that require greater care, you could pay up to around $1,000 per piece for refinishing. Small pieces of furniture like bar stools or dining chairs usually cost between $100 and $400 each. Your refinishing professional might charge by the hour rather than by piece, in which case you would expect to spend $40 to $100 per hour of work required.

It is possible to refinish your own furniture, but it’s usually a good idea to leave the work to the professionals. Furniture refinishing often requires the use of paint stripper or solvents to remove existing finish, which can be dangerous to inhale. Additionally, it’s easy to make mistakes during the process that could permanently damage your piece, limiting its lifespan instead of extending it. Hiring a furniture refinishing professional is especially worthwhile for antique furniture, which often requires more delicate refinishing work.

Yes, you can fill rotten wood with expanding foam. You may prefer using an expanding foam treatment instead of wood filler since the latter can take a long time to dry. It may also provide an easier solution when you’re dealing with smaller gaps. If you use expanding foam, allow it to cure for about 24 hours before you sand and prime it.

It's perfectly fine to just refinish the top of your table instead of all of it. In fact, that's what most people do. After all, why finish the bottom of the table that nobody ever sees? Of course, depending on how exposed the legs of your table are, you might at least consider refinishing them.
