Hercules Moving & Storage

Cancelled on our move 10 minutes before scheduled arrival time. We had the appointment booked months in advance of the move date. Were told they would call us back to let us if additional moving staff were to become available and they never followed up. Completely unprofessional, and added a lot of stress to an already stressful time. Would not recommend to anyone.

I called Hercules and left messages 3 times, sent them a text and 2 emails and NEVER got a response back about moving my things. I would say bad customer service but there was NO customer service ever given.

Great! I can't say enough about this company and the workers we had. Kind, courteous, professional, careful and on and on.

BAD BAD, NO WAY!!! Stephanie booked my appointment and was my point of contact. She called the day before the move and the morning of to let me know the movers were on their way. They showed up on time and were very nice. They worked pretty hard and tried to knock out the small job. Two things went wrong here, VERY wrong. The first thing is that the didn't finish the move, they told me many items were glass and could not be moved due to their insurance policies. I understand this but the items they did not move were a wrapped microwave, many clothes from closets, and a truck load of other non-fragile items. They apologized when they saw me moving my clothes and microwave myself and said they must have missed it. Not great but as long as I am in my place and have a place to sleep I am good. I have a small car an no way to move large items so I had to end up borrowing a truck to finish my own move. Here is the WORST: the movers flat out stole from me. I knew as they were wrapping things up they acted a little nervous but did not put together why until right after they left. They stole cash from me in a place that I thought was hidden. This means they were going through my personal belongings while I was letting the cable guy into my new house and was not there to watch them. They were nice to my face but did not finish the job and they flat out stole cash that they knew they could get away with. I called Stephanie the next morning and was told to wait for the owner to call. He never did. NO WAY! These guys will rob you if they think they can get away with it. So sad and made me feel really poor about using a highly rated Angies List service but doing some independent research after the fact let me know this was not an isolated incident with them. AVOID!!

Our move was FABULOUS! The gentlemen from Hercules arrived as promised, and got to work immediately. They were VERY PROFESSIONAL, kind, and courteous. They moved quickly, and carefully, having the truck loaded in no time. Everything was moved safely and securely, and they put everything exactly where we wanted it. Nothing broken! We have moved several times, used several movers, and these guys were the best!!! We're very happy with the service we received, and the quickness of the move. We would definitely hire them again! The price was great, and we gave each of the guys a nice tip, because it was well deserved!

Chester and Bob were great! They were right on time, well organized, and hard working. They carried all of these heavy items, and more, up and down several flights of steps. They were respectful of my belongings, as well as friendly and respectful to me. I would definitely hire this team again! Thank you, Chester and Bob!

Like others have said, it is not reliable or professional. I did not enjoy the smoke breaks in the back of the moving truck around our clothes and furniture. I HIGHLY recommend looking elsewhere. I was shocked to get over a $600 charge to move our 2 bedroom apartment (1 room was a baby room) 1.4 miles down the road. The website claims they "will be there" but after they missed the 2 hour window by another hour plus, we had hoped for some form of communication. We called them to get answers. I don't necessarily blame the guys that helped us as they did move the big stuff out as promised. But I am very frustrated when the total charge included the frequent smoke breaks, the trip to the grocery, and other breaks. So, we were charged for the entirety. My estimate was around 35-40 minutes for smoke breaks. We were their second move that day so of course they were already exhausted. That's not the moving crew's fault, that's poor organization and business practices. But why charge me for someone taking a break to have a burger? At this juncture, it has been around one business week and unfortunately no responses yet from customer service after we called them to talk about the experience. It really sucked all the fun out of us moving into our first home as a family. The crew was hanging around until nearly 11 at night, so I wasn't able to put the baby's crib together. The whole situation has been upsetting, and not because of the money. But because of the feeling of being violated or taken advantage of, and then ignored afterward. We we're going to inquire about a partial refund for one hour (or $90 refund) based on our experiences. But again, I'm not feeling optimistic about any sort of proactive communication on the company's part, not to mention any sort of refund for this experience. $90/hour sounds good, but it's part of the game. And we still have a lot of stuff to move that I had them leave, as I was just trying to push to get our stuff to the house at a decent hour. Don't over think it, just spend more money on a more reliable and decent company. It is quite rare for me to post such a negative review, but it's left such a bad feeling with me and my family. Whether you are doing a long distance move or just a few miles away, do your research.

The company called to confirm and they were on time. The price was really reasonable for the amount of time the move took. It went from 9am-6pm. The movers were efficient. We had a lot of stuff!!!! They were very polite and eager to please. And those men worked HARD!!!! They did an awesome job following instructions about what boxes to take last. They also completely cleared the house, garage and shed which was no small feat!!! They were careful not to leave anything behind. The only thing I didn't like was that they smoked while they were working. They didn't smoke in our house but they did smoke in the garage and left lots of cigarettes on the property. I guess that's to be expected with movers... I would use this company again. In the past I have used another company but this company had better prices and harder workers!

"T" and Ed showed up right on time. They were efficient and very easy to work with. Took good care of our daughter's furniture. We liked them so much that we're moving from our home to a condo soon and called that day to request them for our move which will be much bigger. Another thing I liked is that when I got the call from Stephanie the day before the move, she reminded me to give them the Angie's List coupon which saved me $20. I was really impressed that she remembered I had told her when setting it up that I had a coupon. Very nice of her to remind me.

The 2 men were punctual and worked through their lunch. We, the buyers, underestimated how long it would take and had to leave as they were finishing up, so we could not be sure they placed some of the furniture where we wanted it, which left us to move it. There were a few pieces of furniture they forgot to pack, but nothing major. Having never used movers before, we would have appreciated a "How to Prepare" guide, as they came in and just went to work, and I felt like I would have been less overwhelmed had I been more prepared. However, the most important part was done by them and we do not regret hiring them for a second.

Very professional in moving heavy furniture. Arrived to the new place 2 hrs later than us while moving, but no apologies, no explanation what so ever. Claimed they did not have a lunch break. Very poor in assembling bed frames.

The moving team was very professional, hard-working, and careful with our belongings. Our old house was 4 stories so there were many steps involved. The move took more time than the the original estimate (estimated 6.5 hours took 7.5 hours). We were happy with their service.

This is the 3rd time I have used them and they are great. Very clean and professional and handle all of your belongs with great care. With all the traveling it still only took them 5 hours. I would use them again.

They were able to move our large household in one day. Excellent service. Nothing was broken or lost.

Things went very well with the move. Because it was on a weekday when things were quiet, they sent two trucks and 5 (or 6) men. I can't remember too much of the details as the move was November 2015. The workers were very nice. The price was good. Only thing we didn't know in advance was that they are usually tipped, so my husband made a quick bank run.

Perfect, movers were very professional and went above and beyond their duties.

The move was satisfactory, but the crew took advantage of the their unsupervized drive back to Cincinnati from Columbus and over charged me by at least 1 hour. It is a 129 mile drive point-to-point and they charged almost 4 hours. My recommendation for anyone, since they charge per hour starting when they leave their business site until they return, is to negotiate a FIXED charge for travel time (in writing). In addition to this, it is very difficult to get the owner to return a call and discuss...

Move could not have gone better. I have moved many times as Army brat and with my Company and this was about the best experience I can recall. - showed up as scheduled and loaded out in less than 5 hours - the trucks actually beat us down there and had one of them unloaded into the garage before we even arrived. The other truck was unloaded by the end of the day and everything put in place where we asked. Don't think I have ever experienced a 2 day move from complete load out to unload . - No lost items, a couple of nicks and scratches to some of the furniture but nothing major and 2 broken glass pieces that I packed and not of concern. Had and antique glass bow front cabinet I was worried to death about and arrived glass in place and without a scratch just as they promised! - all for a VERY competitive price

Excellent work. We needed to move twice, essentially, and the same team helped both times. They were professional and responsive and worked quickly and with a good sense of humor. Would definitely use them again!

The movers were on time, left me a chair in the middle of the room and told me to sit back and relax while they took care of everything. Very courteous, efficient and hard working. Great price. Would highly recommend them!
