"Hired to replace my existing plaster ceilings with drywall, replace the old blown insulation in the attic with batt insulation, install a new ceiling fan including wiring, and rewire an existing ceiling fan. Juan and his guys are efficient and professional. They always showed up in the estimated time frame. They cleaned up the work area every day before they left and cleaned up at the end of the project. Extremely pleased with the finished work. Jason, the owner, is very responsive to emails, texts, and phone calls. Kitchen ceiling was cracked and falling the day after the estimate and I called Jason and he sent Juan out within an hour or so to brace the ceiling to keep it from falling. This was before I had even signed a contract. He had absolutely no obligation to do that, but I extremely appreciate it. It saved me a mess and damage to deal with. Would absolutely hire them again in the future and highly recommend them."

"Lynn replaced several floor joists and added extra support beams to the floors where needed. The job took about a week as he said it may take 5-7 days this added for unforeseen problems. He cleaned work area up every evening before leaving for the day.. hauled away any debris and scrap. There were a few small added items to his list and he didn’t mind taking care of those things also."

"Customers beware! This review is for JK Custom Builders located in Arcanum OH. The Owner/Operator is also the GC/estimator. We hired this General contractor to complete a 16x30 addition onto our home. This entire project was a disaster from the start to an incomplete job. We eventually had to fire this contractor as they are incompetent and do a very poor quality of work. They failed the rough inspections due to poor framing issues and attaching the new roofing to the existing structure. The roofing that they installed was completed twice and by 2 different roofers and will still needs torn off and reinstalled. This contractor refused to complete the roof per current code requirements. They even tore off the existing chimney and tried to rebuild this due to poor planning. This will need to be reframed and rebuilt as the replacement they provided is completely out of plum and is missing the proper flashing/chimney caps. The contractor also destroyed items and would not repair and resolve issues around the property. Due to poor planning our existing basement flooded with water and mud during a rain storm. All carpet will need replaced and we have driveway that was cracked and damaged. The driveway that was damaged was not even near the home and project. The GC refused to acknowledge the damaged. This was due to where he wanted to put the temporary water closet away from the jobsite. We have all items documented and photos taken! A total review process of this company would fill a book! This GC should be avoided for any project! He will belittle you and act as though he has done nothing wrong! I wish I could post all my photo evidence within this post! I also wish I could leave ZERO STARS!"

"We are extremely pleased with the work Joe performed for us. He went beyond the extra mile to ensure the work was done correctly and professionally. Our main project was to install a portable air conditioner in a room with a casement window. We thought we would have to replace the window with a full-sized traditional window. Joe saved us an incredible amount of money by suggesting, and installing, a much-less-expensive option that works just fine. Furthermore, Joe readily agreed to another project and built a new picnic table bench to replace our dilapidated one and shored up our other bench. "Cabinets were high quality, workers were friendly but under stress due to what they called a work model. They ran into a couple of things that slowed down the work and took unnecessary short cuts. Dry wall was not all replaced where needed, dry wall mudding was a little sloppy and sanding was sloppy due to pressures of time. For the price that was paid the over all product was less the desired. A leak in a plumbing connection caused water damage to a downstairs bathroom ceiling and the repair was sloppy and the ceiling was left unpainted and spotted. The staff was under undue pressure to finish on Friday as the end of the week came so a new job could be started elsewhere the following Monday. While the workers were friendly and attentive the completed job has numerous flaws that are visible. The electrical work was excellent as was the installation of cabinets and counter tops. Until this company upgrades the over quality of work and allows extra time to properly complete a quality job when unforseen issues arise I would not recommend and felt we were overpriced due to the overall quality of work performed."

"Completely rebuilt our 26-year-old wood burning mason fireplace to bring it up to code. In the firebox completely removed fire brick from back and both side walls. completely removed clay flue and replaced with insulated stainless steel. This included adding a lever operated lock top damper and stainless-steel exterior flue cap. Much time was spent adding chamber tech 2000 parge coating to the smoke chamber. Kevon and his two workers were excellent. All details on steps being taken were clearly explained. All carpeting was protected from the front door to the work area in the family room. All debris was removed from the job site. This was a big job that took two days to complete. Am following the recommended wait time and break in steps to be taken. It is comforting to know that we have a completely safe fireplace that is up to code. Looking forward on having Doctor Flue perform annual chimney sweeps during the off season.
