"Overall an experience of stellar customer service. From the consultant Jeremy, to his manager John, the installers Ethan W., Jake G., and Tristan P., and the plumber who made some small adjustments the day after installation, kudos all around. We had an immediate health-related need for a walk-in shower. All the West Shore associates worked together to quickly get the job done for us. The installers were professional, polite, and kept us informed throughout the process. The shower is easy to use, easy to clean, and looks very high-end. I would also like to commend the folks that answer the customer support line. I called and decided not to leave a message, and they called me back to check with me immediately. I was on the line with John, the manager who was very helpful and scheduled a plumber to come to the house the next day. It was quite a comforting feeling to get a return call at the same time John was taking excellent care with followup on with our installation. West Shore delivered on their 100% satisfaction guaranteed for certain."

"Rob and his crew did an amazing job converting our bathroom to an ADA bathroom. He listened to what we needed and made suggestions along the way. We had some unique needs and they were helpful and understanding of those needs."

"Zach was great and very friendly. Project was about $4K less than quoted by others. Had the drain line for our sump pump replaced from house. Completed in about 1/2 day and got to our project a week after coming out for the estimate. The initial quote included removing and replacing a portion of our sidewalk and but his crew was able to dig under instead, saving time and supplies, which was awesome, however it didn't lower the project price. Also wish there was a little bit more effort in cleanup afterwards, some time with a yard rake could have saved about 2 ft of extra grass (beyond the trench, which I knew I would have to replant). Overall a great company and would probably hire again in the future, just being more clear on cleanup expectations and price adjustments."

"EVERDRY has been a godsend as a new homeowner! When looking at homes to buy for my growing family I was very reticent to buy something that did not have newer appliances, roof, furnace/AC unit, etc. because I knew that those big ticket items were not going to be something that I would be able to afford quickly. My home came with an EVERDRY warranty that would transfer to me as the new homeowner. Within the first year of living in our house we had EVERDRY come out to inspect our sump pump, battery backup, as well as our foundation and they found several issues that would have cost us a ton of money had we not had the EVERDRY warranty, thus saving me and my family a ton of money to make sure that our house was safe and secure for us to live. I would recommend EVERDRY to anyone who fears for foundational problems."

Affordable Plumbers questions, answered by experts

Many plumbers include removing and disposing of the old toilet as part of their service package. However, it’s best to ask before signing a contract, as removal isn’t guaranteed. If the plumber doesn’t take the old toilet, you have several options, including donation, recycling, junk removal, and bulk waste services..

A back pressure valve is a control valve used on production vessels, such as separators, treaters, and free water knockouts. The valve holds pressure until a set point is reached, and then releases upstream pressure to reset. Back pressure valves are not safety mechanisms. Instead, they are regulators designed to keep the fluid, gas, or liquid mixture in a system at a certain pressure level to prevent bursts and other incidents.

Meanwhile, a backflow preventer is a safety mechanism that kicks in when the pressure has already failed and contaminated water flows in the reverse direction. Most backflow preventers consist of two one-way valves, or check valves assembled together. This design only allows water to pass through in one direction but not the other.

If there's no water coming out of the spigot, or barely any water, you might have a clogged water line. Areas with hard water are prone to this problem because the high mineral content in hard water causes build-up in pipes and water lines. This constricts the water flow and causes water to slowly trickle out, if at all.

For best results, you should remove the toilet in a bathroom before removing tile or installing new tile. If you don’t remove the toilet, it will be harder to fully waterproof the tile around the toilet, which could increase the risk of mold growth or plumbing leaks. If you have trouble removing the toilet, hire a plumber to help.

Switching to city water from well water requires running a private main service line from the closest main city line to your home. When comparing well water versus city water, city water is routinely tested and readily available but can be more expensive than well water.
