In fall of 2022, the failed to winterize our system correctly, resulting in extensive damage to pipes, back flow preventer and destroying debit meter the city monitors. Although Oakland covered all the cost of repairs, it took hem over 3 months to get the stytem running and during that time we list a lot of spring planted flowers due to lack of water that we had planned on having available when the hot, dry season started in June of 2023. Then this spring, 2024, when opening the system, Oakland discovered more underground pipes leaking where they had blown apart at glue joints, they claimed due to age. After waiting 1 month for Oakland to repair them, the system came on and one zone would not shut off correctly. Upon investigation, I found they had also dug up the main valve box, filled the hole with dirt and just placed the box back on top, burying all the valves under the dirt and rendering the access box useless. Still waiting on a return call as no one will answer the phone directly!! VERY POOR CUSTIMER SERVICE!!

Terrible. Last year, I hired Oakland Nursery for irrigation and sprinklers. The manager of irrigation left last fall for Colorado in the middle of my job. He had hired a sub to do it and I have had so many problems: left holes for kids to trip in, pummeled my fence, flooded my basement, planting grass in the wrong place, left a swamp. Although that sub is no longer there, they never hired another head of irrigation. They just used a guy that used to work for the previous head of irrigation (John). In order to solve the swamp issue, he sent a guy that wasn't a landscaper to dig up my sod and put dirt underneath. The previous head had recommended this in April but it wasn't done until months later, when the sun was too hot. It was a disaster and left a hazard as the grass was dying and pulling apart leaving large crevices. They came and put hazard tape all around, ran my sprinklers around the clock and said no one could step on it for 4-6 weeks. I was left with almost half of my backyard that was unusable for a family reunion and two birthday parties. This was very costly to my family in the midst of COVID as we were planning to have these parties in the back yard. (They had also done 10K of work before this to plant a beautiful flower bed at the back of my yard that could no longer be seen because of the bright yellow hazard tape and tall weeds. They told me it couldn't even be mowed. I would have never consented to this if they told me it couldn't be walked on or mowed. When it was mowed 7 weeks later, there were holes, dead grass and a lot of bumps. They still haven't fixed this or even sent a boss to look at it. They send me bills with finance charges even though I paid before it was done. I already paid them $4100 for this service and they are charging me over $2K more b/c the head of irrigation did not put in writing what was a verbal agreement and then moved out of state. I am writing this in case others are thinking about using Oakland Nursery.

I had them out 1-2 years ago to add some heads on the line ... They've gone above and beyond the call of duty. A tech gave me information about my grass, and has helped me considerably. Came out to troubleshoot some problems, and replace a head that was still covered by warranty. Fast to respond, very friendly and flexible. Very capable I don't know how their price compares to others.

When we moved into our home, we used Oakland Irrigation to maintain our irrigation system since they were the company to install. Their phones are never answered, voicemails are never returned and when you finally are able to schedule a time, they were consistently late... by hours. There was no regard for the home owners time and schedule. I will not use them ever again.

When I called, Oakland told me that because I had not used them in a while, I had fallen out of their special customer club. Therefore, they instituted a steep fee just to come to my home ($110), even though I had used them several times in the past. I have been satisfied in the past, but I think it is obscene to charge that amount of money just to come to the door.

We asked them to come and service our pond fountain. The estimate they gave us an estimate of $320.00 and the final bill was $640.00. No sooner than they left the fountain stopped working. They ended up coming out three times to fix the problem, which was a great positive. We are very unhappy with the work and even questioning having the work done in the first place. They eventually came down on the price but still not worth the money.

It was to have cost 125 dollars and they were to give an estimate on fixing any problems. Instead worked several hours and charged 220. Sprinkler heads he "fixed" have water pouring out the bottom. Not quality work.

They were excellent.

They did the work satisfactorily. I had used them 5-6 years ago and I think their customer service has gone downhill since. I used to the same guy but now it's someone different every time. There are not the worst company but they could stand to bring back the customer service they once had. They were supposed to be here at 10 and they showed up at 12:30.

WE HAD AN APPOINTMENT SCHEDULED, AND THE NEXT DAY WAS A COLD DAY. THEY DIDN'T TELL US WE NEEDED TO HAVE OUR WATER SHUT OFF. IT BURST A BACK VALVE, AND IT FLOODED OUR YARD. THEY CALLED AND TOLD US THEY WOULD BE OUT THE NEXT DAY TO REPAIR IT. THEY DIDN'T CALL OR SHOW UP. SOMEONE DID CALL US LATER, DIDN'T APOLOGIZE, AND ASKED WHEN WE WANTED TO SCHEDULE OUR WINTERIZATION. WE SAID WE WOULD NEVER USE THEM AGAIN. WE WERE VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THE SERVICE.

THE REPAIRS HAVE NOT BEEN COMPLETED. IN FACT, THERE IS AS MUCH IF NOT MORE WRONG WITH THE SYSTEM AS WHEN THEY STARTED. YET WE HAVE RECEIVED A BILL FOR $1000. WE HAVE CALLED MULTIPLE TIMES. ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS WE HAVE CALLED AND RECEIVED VOICE MAIL, AND NO ONE RETURN OUR CALL. THEN ON 2 OCCASIONS WHEN WE HAVE BEEN ABLE TO TALK WITH SOMEONE, THEY PROMISED THEY WOULD HAVE SOMEONE CONTACT US "THE FOLLOWING WEEK", AND WOULD TAKE CARE OF THE PROBLEMS. ON NEITHER OCCASION DID ANYONE FOLLOW THROUGH. THIS IS BY FAR THE WORST EXPERIENCE WE HAVE EVER HAD WITH A CONTRACTOR OF ANY KIND. BASED ON OUR EXPERIENCE, WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU AVOID THEM. WE WILL BE CONTACTING THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU.
