Small jobs welcome

"I needed a kitchen faucet installed, so looked on Home Advisor to find someone to do the job. I called on the weekend, left a message and Danielle got back to me on Monday. She set up an appointment for the next day between 3 and 5. They arrived on time. The faucet was given to me by a friend. I didn't realize all the parts weren't there. When Anthony and Danielle arrived, they thought at first that they couldn't install it. Then said they would go and see if they could buy the parts needed to do the job, which they did. It was a bigger job than normal, but was pleased with the installation. I feel they went out of their way to help me and their charge was reasonable in my opinion. I am well pleased with their work and would recommend them to you."

"Installation of a step and handrail for front porch. The response time was quick and the work was done within 24 hours of my request. Super nice both in discussing my project and coming up with a plan for the installation. I couldn’t be happier! Thank you Tri-State Home Repair! Tim and Jim are both wonderful to work with!"

Trampoline Assembly questions, answered by experts

It may be tempting to DIY the construction of a swing set to save money, but we don’t recommend it. Since children will use the swing set, the entire system must be solid and safe, meaning the cost savings aren’t worth potentially endangering them. Plus, most DIYers will have to build their swing sets out of wood, which won’t last as long as metal or vinyl and introduces the risk of splinters. Instead, hire a local playground equipment installer to ensure the swing set is built safely and efficiently, setting up your kids for fun for years to come.

Many suppliers offer installation services, either directly or through reliable subcontractors. Discuss these needs when ordering, as they may require additional scheduling or payment.

Children can become interested in playset activities as young as two years old, and many start to lose interest between ages nine and 12. Backyard playsets can grow and adapt as the children age and playtime interests change.

Material markup costs and labor expenses are the additional primary costs of hiring a playground installer over building your own set. Labor costs are typically less costly than some more specialized home improvement projects. DIY swing set construction is less expensive than professional installation but will take considerably more time and effort to perform.

You can start by finding playground installers in your area that have amassed mostly positive reviews online. Next, search for the companies on the Better Business Bureau’s (BBB) website to see if any consumer complaints have been filed. Once you rule out companies with poor reviews and a history of complaints, contact the remaining options and ask the following questions to find the right installer for you:

  • Will you pull permits if required?

  • Do you offer a warranty?

  • How long do you expect the installation to take?

  • Do you have experience working with the specific playground material I want?
