"Rob Rowan of Pressure Washing Unlimited just completed refinishing /staining two decks and a fence for me and did an awesome job! His work is impeccable. He is very meticulous and conscientious about what he is doing. Rob and his crew worked very hard and did a wonderful job. I am very pleased with everything they did and how they did it. "Holy smokes. I rarely write reviews but I gotta tell you, Quinton was incredible. We booked him the night before we were moving into our new house through HomeAdvisor. Despite it being very short notice, he contacted us immediately and the booking process was really clear and efficient. He came out the house the next day and charged us just $125 to clean a 1900sq ft house that had just been remodeled. We initially only wanted the floors mopped, but he also cleaned and put gloss on all the hardwood trim and wood paneling and cleaned the kitchen and bathrooms. The place looks amazing, it's like a 5 star hotel. It's literally sparkling. The quality of work and value for money was amazing. We only needed one-time cleaning but I will definitely keep them in mind in the future. Quinton was extremely personable and professional. He communicated the whole time we were back at the old house with the moving truck and kept us informed how things were going. The whole business was very conscientious about Covid precautions, which I appreciate a lot and speaks to the attention to detail they offer. They even left us a mop, broom, a bucket, and cleaning solution to keep. 11/10."

Deck Cleaning questions, answered by experts

That depends on the condition of your deck. An older deck that looks drab, worn, or has multiple damaged boards might be worth replacing before selling. However, if your deck is in good condition, you can simply clean, repaint, or stain it.

Be careful when choosing a product to help you remove ice from your wood deck. Never use sand, gravel, or salt, since these items can damage and scratch the wood. Instead, look for chemical de-icers that are marked as safe for wood decks or use hot water to melt snow and ice.

The cost to repair a deck is between $900 and $3,500, depending on the cause and extent of the damage. For example, fixing a sinking deck caused by pest damage can cost between $200 and $600, while replacing sinking boards costs between $500 and $4,000.

While you can use various materials like sand or even just soil, gravel is widely considered the best option to put under a deck. It provides excellent drainage and is resistant to water, fire, and pests. Gravel also helps anchor the soil to prevent erosion during heavy rain and acts as a built-in weed blocker, reducing regular upkeep. Furthermore, it is simple to spread, available in various textures and tones, and adds a polished look that complements any deck design.

Both deck footings and deck posts help prop up your deck. However, footings are the bottommost parts of a deck that touch the ground. They’re usually made of concrete. Posts are pieces of wood that attach to the top of the footings with brackets. They run upwards and connect to the underside of your deck to support its weight.
