Welcome to my profile! I specialize in the design, fabrication and installation of IKEA kitchen cabinetry, giving you a semi custom kitchen for much less! IKEA kitchens are my specialty, and has been for the last two decades, across northern Ohio, Pennsylvania, Kentucky and West Virginia and New Jersey too. It's all I do. IKEA Kitchens are a great value, and you'll keep more money in your pocket than you would with other brands. The quality, fit and finish are very good- I've visited kitchens I've installed 20 years ago and they're still in good condition (my clients know they can reach me anytime after their install should issues arise!). IKEA uses only Blum hardware for door hinges and drawer glides- the best of the best. But IKEA kitchens demand a high degree of precision and has to be installed with this in mind, especially when incorporating wall ovens, micro drawers or other built-in appliances such as Fisher-Paykel, Miehle, etc. Give me a call or send an email about your project! No charge for estimates. Thank you, Erik Gustav Tel:614.483.7110 [email protected] www.ikeatech.com

"Erik was hired to install IKEA cabinets in our home for a full kitchen renovation. I felt confident in assembling the cabinets and finishing them (doors, hardware, drawers, toe kicks, etc) but we wanted a professional to make sure the cabinets were hung level, plumb, and square. From our first conversation it was obvious that Erik is an expert in all things IKEA. He provided some guidance and changes to our design to make some subtle improvements that would not have been obvious to us. He also immediately identified a critical flaw in our design that would have greatly impacted the final outcome but luckily we had enough time to get the proper replaced item. Communication with Erik was decent but be prepared for patience with emails and texts. Phone calls seemed to be most effective. Also be prepared to be patient for his schedule. Despite our efforts to plan ahead and get on “his radar” back in July, it still took several rounds of calls and discussions to finally get a week nailed down and the arrival day wasn’t determined until the week-of. You will need to be flexible. The installation was very fast - he had all of the work completed in one day. He is also very precise and detailed. He took time to show me how cabinets were anchored to the wall, that cabinets were level and prepped for the countertop template. He also cleaned up nicely, was courteous in our home and has a professional demeanor. The installation wasn’t without issue though. He accidentally stepped on a weak piece of our corner cabinet and broke it. His solution was to “sister” a piece below it. I was told it wouldn’t affect the countertops as this had no load bearing properties and it won’t be visible once countertops are installed. I believe that he is correct, and accidents happen, but it was disappointing as mishaps was something I wanted to avoid and large reason why we elected to hire someone rather than do the installation ourselves. No adjustment was made to the agreed upon price to account for the broken cabinet which I felt would have been the appropriate thing to do even it was a minor reduction. Overall, I would hire Erik again and be better prepared to be patient and clearly a communicate my expectations. He is precise, detailed, and very knowledgeable on IKEA systems. His involvement resulted in a nice overall outcome."

Being a sober contractor has it's perks! Not only am I a man of my word, I also can think clearly when troubling shooting work safely and be trusted. I'm not in the business of being greedy or dishonest. Just working hard and providing for my family.

I am here to offer you a choice, to work with a person not a company. In my years in the remodeling industry I have seen a move toward a business model that maximizes profit by taking on multiple sites at one time. This does two things; maximizes profit and stretches the project out by weeks. I am not on a mission to compete with those companies. I have worked in many homes where this model worked perfectly. I am on a mission to offer you a custom design-build experience handcrafted to your home and your tastes and to create a truly unique environment that will serve you for many years. We will design your space together. I will build your space. And I will be there throughout the entire process. Are you are the kind of person who doesn't want to feel swallowed up by the process of a large remodeling company, if you love the idea of handcrafted items, if you want to be the main priority for the person designing and building your space, I may be a good fit. I specialize in concrete, reclaimed wood, and steel one of a kind pieces for your home. Come see us at www.artisangray.com.

Furniture Refinishing questions, answered by experts

You can revamp your laminate countertops effortlessly with the magic of paint, the DIYer's ally. Many tutorials and DIY kits are available to help you achieve the look of natural stone, including marble. So why not unleash your creativity and transform your countertops into stunning pieces that will leave everyone in awe of your artistic prowess?

Yes, refinishing can decrease or even diminish the value of antique furniture, as most collectors look for original finishes to maintain the piece’s historical integrity. Learning how to clean antique wood and carefully restore the finish without stripping it is the best way to maintain the piece’s original value. Either way, it’s best to take it to a professional furniture refinishing and restoration expert rather than attempting a DIY restoration.

It takes the average person four to eight days to refinish a table. This sounds long, but the work time is only two to 10 hours. If you have prior experience, each step, including dipping, stripping, sanding, staining, painting, and sealing, can take just 30 minutes to complete. The wait time between each step results in a longer total time.

If your wood stain is still rubbing off after the recommended drying time, it means the pigments didn’t soak into the wood properly and remain on the surface. There are a few possible causes, including applying the stain in hot temperatures, applying too much stain, or failing to wipe off excess before it dries completely.

Black stains appear on wood furniture when the surface comes in contact with water and metal for an extended time. It creates a chemical reaction that stains your wood black. Products that contain oxalic acid can remove these stains. Its bleach-like qualities can reverse the stains after a few rounds of application.
