These programs are available in many communities and are funded by local governments. If you can transport your hazardous materials to the dumping site, you can often get rid of everything at no cost.

If your old washer and dryer are still in working condition and you have space for an additional hook-up, you may be able to use them for things you don’t want in your household laundry, like heavily soiled work clothes.
