Since 1998 my company has served the Dayton, Troy and Piqua, Ohio areas with honesty and integrity. Being a locally owned and operated company, I strongly believe that we have a responsibility to provide each and every customer with a level of service that is second to none. Our attention to detail is reflected in each of our projects as well as in our A+ rating and certification from the BBB. If you are looking for a new fireplace, insert or freestanding stove or if you simply need your existing chimney cleaned or repaired, please call me today and rest assured that I stand by our work

"Not well. The young men who came were pleasant, but inexperienced. The job was to sweep AND inspect. They said it did not need sweeping (though we later found out it did) and they asked if we wanted an outside inspection as if it were an add-on. It was raining and I guess they did not want to get wet. They then were delayed sending us a quote and when we asked for one, it was nebulous and prohibitively expensive. Four quotes later we found a company that would do the work needed and not upsell us. We paid $250 effectively for nothing."

"First time I've used them, Indian Lake seems to be an oddity, lots of house trailers and lots of plumbers around but hard to get anyone to show up and do quality or consistent work (repeat customer) on a trailer. Out of 10 contacts attempted they not only scheduled me the same week they also warned me about the extra service call charge for distance. As I was trying the get the other 9 contacts closer to Indian Lake to this work, I ended up having to change my appointment with Kogge due to other commitments I just could not rearrange. They did not hesitate to reschedule early the very next week without hem hawing around, wow. No others wanted the job, so I drove up and Steve arrived close to scheduled time. He followed me under the trailer to the leak, took care of it, gave me advice/information, then fixed what I thought was a pressure switch issue by replacing the gauge he believed to be the real cause (on and off cycles to close and often), then fine tuned the on/off cycle and now my pump and holding tank are in sync and run less often and when actually needed. This was all in excellent time, no rush and no looking at his watch or phone (if he even had either), he just did the jobs quickly and efficiently without hesitation or wondering if he had a part. They will be at the top of my list from now on despite the distance charge, it was and should be worth it based on the excellent experience I had today, thank you again!"

Gas Logs questions, answered by experts

In most cases, yes, it’s safe to light a gas water heater manually, but you should shut the gas off first, open a window, and let the space air out for about 10 minutes. Modern water heaters shut the gas off entirely if the pilot light goes out, but airing out the area beforehand is good practice and will ensure it’s safe to relight your pilot light manually. Just make sure you turn the gas valve to “pilot” before lighting. If the light keeps going out or won’t light at all, call in a professional.

The cost to move a gas line is around $500 on average or $20 per linear foot . A pro will carefully disconnect the existing gas line and reroute it to its new path. This may involve excavation if the line is underground or drywall work to repair your walls and ceilings. The project will finish with a pressure test to check for leaks and turning the gas line back on.

In most cases, a flexible steel hose connects your gas line to the wall. This process is typical if you are replacing your gas stove or if the old pipe has worn down. However, always leave this job for a professional plumber. Errors can be very dangerous, so it's worth calling a professional to take a look.

All U.S. states require permits for gas grill installation, so you’ll have to get one before you move forward with your project. Permits help ensure that the gas line runs safely to avoid gas leaks and explosions. Gas line permits can usually also only be pulled by certified plumbers, which means you’ll have to hire a professional from the start. The permit for a gas line installation for a gas grill usually costs between $100 and $300. You can contact your installation company or building department for more accurate pricing.

If you sense a gas leak or are upgrading your appliances, it’s best to hire a gas engineer to disconnect the gas stove for you and conduct any other necessary inspections and repairs. While it is easy to disconnect the gas stove yourself, you may not be qualified to complete what needs to be done next. Gas is also harmful to the human body. Therefore, a trained professional is more suitable to handle any gas-related problems.
