"They were quick, through, did a great job and cleaned up well. They even we above and beyond to make sure to correct prior mistakes from the last person to make sure it was set up the proper way. They even made sure that they got me scheduled quick and that I was going to be ok with alternative heat sources."

"I have a 101 y/o commercial building with the old boiler. Mark is the only plumber who I found that could service it. He knew what he was doing. Even when that horrible snow hit. His son came out diagnosed the pump. Replaced and serviced the radiators. Thank you"

"The comfort consultant was very professional. He presented possible solutions and discussed the extent of work that would be needed to reach my goals. He assured me their workers were top notch, dependable and trustworthy. I found all of this to be true. They always covered their shoes as they entered the house. They had to move all kinds of stuff in the basement and attic to complete the job. They even fixed a ceiling fan in a bedroom as it looked like they may have knocked it loose, when in fact it had been that way for years (Bonus!). Everyone I worked with from the receptionists to the workers were very nice and helpful. I would recommend this company. They are excellent! PS - Thank you for the lunch kit full of cookies. Yum :D"

"Purchased through Costco which uses Weatherking as their local contractor. The Costco purchase involved a little more paper work and payment upfront but saved 10% and was explained upfront and was a smooth transaction. Sales and Techs were all very professional. Sales was clear and provide multiple options and was not pushing the highest price one. Install went smoothly and was started and completed on time. They came back a couple months later to start the AC since the it was too cold during the install and were able to do so quickly after I called to schedule."

"Had Jim come out to give me an estimate and hid did a very thorough job.  Called him a few months later to have the insulation and ventilation needs addressed.  Jim and his crew were very professional, trust worthy and they did a great job with the installation.  Jim walked me through the work when they were finished and the price ended up being less than what he originally quoted me.  I can not say enough about Jim and the company.  It is very hard to find great companies who show up on time, are professional and deliver a great product, so I always like to praise the companies that do,  Jim and his crew were all of the above, professional and provided great customer service.  I would highly recommend North Coast Insulation and Ventilation, you will not be disappointed.  Thanks for the great work and a warm house.

"I got a Living Social for them, which covered 10 vents for $75. What I didn't realize/understand is that my house has 22 vents, plus the two main ducts need to be done. Each vent was $15, and the main ducts were $50 each. Definitely good to know in the future that there are projects like this that are much bigger than I expected!

"State Heating and Air Conditioning installed my central air and went above and beyond. My schedule was hard to accommodate dude to work and moving from another city. We had some mix ups but Scott installed portable units until everything could be fully installed so my brick house wouldn’t be an oven. Sal and Nick did my install and were very helpful. They were nice enough to put up my new carbon monoxide alarm and changed the filter in my furnace without me asking, just being helpful gentlemen. Now I have AC and I’m a happy camper. Great company, great people. The young ladies in the office were also great. I think her name was Nicole; she made sure to call me back before she left for the day as promised when I had a scheduling issue."

Install Boiler questions, answered by experts

The primary differences between a heat pump and a boiler are their function and how they produce heat. A heat pump is a versatile system that provides both heating and cooling by moving ambient air and altering its temperature. In contrast, a boiler is solely a heating system, often working with a furnace or AC unit as part of a larger HVAC system. In terms of heat production, a heat pump generates heat more slowly and at a lower temperature, requiring a large convector for distribution. A boiler, however, produces a large amount of high-temperature heat that it emits through smaller radiators.

In most cases, repairing a radiator is more affordable than replacing it. A typical repair may cost between $100 and $200, while a replacement can average $1,500, with a range of $250 to $2,500 depending on the unit type. Radiator issues are often simple fixes for a professional, such as a blown fuse, malfunctioning thermostat, or a loose valve, and can take less than an hour. However, if the long-term costs of fixing the radiator are higher than replacement, it's better to get a new model. It is recommended to consult a heating expert to diagnose the problem and determine the best solution for your situation.

If you're often struggling with radiator issues like chilly spots, leaks, or annoying noises, those are common indications that your radiator may need to be replaced. Corrosion, uneven heating, and persistent hissing sounds are common issues as well. When repairs become a regular chore and your home’s energy bills start to rise, a new radiator will bring the comfort and savings you need.

When winter rolls around, and you turn the heat on for the first time in a year, it’s normal to sense a light odor. This could smell a little like burning because some dust has gathered in the heating unit over the warm months and will fade away shortly after. However, there are some smells you should watch out for and take caution around: an egg-like sulfur smell or an electrical burn odor would indicate there’s something wrong. Turn it off and call a professional for maintenance as soon as possible.

While you’ll pay more upfront for a brand-new HVAC unit, you can save money in the long run. Here’s how to save on your new HVAC system:

  • When purchasing a high-efficiency system, your energy bills will be lower in the future.

  • You may be eligible for special offers from your local energy company.

  • Depending on the system, you may be eligible for HVAC rebates and tax credits.

  • Choose to replace your air conditioning unit and furnace simultaneously to save on labor and installation costs.
