"We called several large dealers because we recognized their name and also came across DogSafe. Matt was very responsive to our request for a quote. He actually had our pet fence installed before the other companies returned our call. Installation and training went well. I've already recommended DogSafe to others I know because of the quality service, communication and responsiveness."

"Lance was able to visit our home on the same day we contacted him to repair our dog fence. His communication was excellent and he took the time to find the problem to get our system back up and running. He is personable and reasonable and would recommend him highly."

"They did a terrific job! 2 raccoons and one opossum were caught and removed. Critter Inspector also recommended and installed a barrier around the perimeter of our deck to prevent further animals from taking up residence. The Critter Inspector team members were polite, professional and efficient. I would recommend them to anyone needing the removal of nuisance animals."

"I have used Queen City Fence twice for fences at my houses.  They were great to work with, very responsive and punctual.  Their pricing was always better than the other fence companies we got quotes from, and an excellent.value.
Dominic is a great guy to work with!

"One thing I have always agreed with is that you get what you pay for.  These guys have very low prices and their name is "Affordable".  That being said, I honestly was a little nervous for Sunday.  In the vicinity of our two trees were: the neighbor's fence, our house, our deck, and our other neighbors swing set.  We just moved into our house and the last thing I wanted was to have to go over to the neighbors and tell them we had knocked down their fence or swing set (or for our house to be damaged).
All of my concerns quickly came to an end on sunday.  I have no idea how they are able to spend so much time and do such a great job and still charge these prices.  They put 2 the two trees on the ground without damaging anything at all.  In fact, our soil below the Cedar was not very compact (I believe due to moles), and now it is packed down well.  So, they were actually able to improve the condition of our yard AND avoid damaging anything!
These guys were very friendly, worked all day, did a great job, cleaned up after themselves, etc.  We couldn't be happier.  We grabbed a stack of business cards from them because we know some friends and family who have been wanting to have similar work done.  Once the work was completed, Mike gave us a call to make sure we were happy with the work.  Nice touch!  Thanks!

Animal Fencing questions, answered by experts

There isn’t one best type of trap for an armadillo. However, Havahart and Tomahawk live wire cages are popular two-door brands commonly used for armadillos. One study suggests wooden traps with armadillo scent on them can increase the chance of success. It’s worth inquiring whether your local wildlife extension has scented traps or wire types available for rent.

Setting up an animal trap in your yard largely depends on where you live and the type of critter you're dealing with. In many states, trapping nuisance animals like squirrels, rats, or raccoons is allowed, sometimes without needing a permit. However, certain wildlife species are protected, and not all states have lenient catch-and-release regulations.

Before placing a trap, check your local laws to avoid fines or other legal issues. Some areas allow DIY trapping, while others may require professional assistance. Most areas require a professional to relocate the animal once trapped. Consulting a pro ensures you handle the situation responsibly, humanely, and within the law.

No, poison isn’t the best way to deal with animals in your attic. It’s unlikely to completely eradicate the problem, especially if you don’t take care of access points. Also, poisoned animals may die and decay in the attic, causing noxious odors.

Some animals may leave the attic before the poison kills them, which could lead to nearby pets or other wildlife eating the animals and becoming poisoned themselves. Ultimately, it’s better to avoid using poison and contact a professional instead.

American badgers sleep in the burrows they dig, which can be extensive, featuring multiple chambers and tunnels. Badgers prefer to excavate their dens in open grasslands, prairies, and fields where the soil is easy to dig. They are solitary animals and usually have several burrows within their territory to use as needed. These underground homes provide them with a safe and secure place to rest during the day and to raise their young.

Homemade raccoon repellents can be a cost-effective and humane method for keeping raccoons off your property. Raccoons despise the smell of vinegar, so keeping a bowl of it near your home can keep them away. Some wildlife companies advise using cayenne pepper or hot sauce sprinkled near your deck or porch as another homemade option.
