Serving residential customers in the Miami Valley, Upfront pricing, 24/7 Emergency Service, All employees passed background check and drug-free. Payment due at time of service. 2 Year Warranty on All Repairs and 7 Years Warranty on McAfee Installations.

"Revocation: On 06/30/2020 this company's accreditation in BBB was revoked by BBB's Board of Directors due to a failure to avoid involvement, by the business or its principals, in activities that reflect unfavorably on, or otherwise adversely affect the public image of BBB or its accredited businesses. McAfee, Greg Owner and Company McAfee HVAC taken to Kettering Small Claims Court September 2020, McAfee Continued twice, sent a secretary to fight his battle, then an Attorney in January 2021, Feb 2021 Changed Venue from Defendant Small Claims to Defendant to Ohio Civil Court, with three employees at witnesses to discourage and intimidate client and homeowner with COPD disability. McAfee is paying $1000s in attorney and employees to appear at multiple court dates instead of working with customer to satisfy poor workmanship and negligence. Poor company and very poor service. Scam warranty Comfort Program, Fake and do not waste your money or time (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) To this day, McAfee has done nothing to remedy the negligent and incomplete work performed in November 2019. I have breathing difficulties due to COPD disability and oxygen usage all the time. Completely false and untrue statements from McAfee. No attempts to connect or assist me with any remedy with another company. This is easily seen with their emails stating "However, since you have now filed a BBB complaint, you can now take everything up with them, we will no longer be responding to you." Another contractor verified that the work from November from McAfee used Duct Tape to hold the rusted bottom of the furnace together instead of completing the contracted work, and paid for $4000 in November 2019 just 6 months ago. The ongoing damages to my muddy crawl space, ruined vapor barrier, insect and water damage, and I am disabled on oxygen with lung COPD and have been hospitalized 4 times since McAfee ruined my Furnace and HVAC central system. After the May 28, 2020 email from president **** ******, stating do not call back for any service calls or anything, I am still being billed for the Gold Monthly extended service plan, last bill for $20 June 1, 2020. Albeit no service is accepted or warranty by McAfee. I have also requested the insurance company contact for McAfee Claims for their Contractor License. "No we do not give it out to customers" per **** ******. It is Ohio State Law "A Contractor must provide any customer or contractor the name of insurance company, insurance company contact information, and recent valid proof of insurance and verification upon request within 3 days" Federated Insurance is the carrier for McAfee I found when speaking to the Ohio State Attorney General Commerce regarding Insurance for McAfee. The company was decent in the past, but is nothing more than lying, and scamming to their customers. I am ashamed that a local business is taking advantage of disabled customers such as myself and ignoring them after taking the money. No guarantee, No Warranty and now no HVAC services per McAfee foolish business practice and negligent errors causing harm to customers property and physical health to my family with a muddy crawl space, bug infestation, property damages to the house, and no HVAC functional in any weather."

My primary business is consulting on buildings that have construction defects that allow moisture intrusion, rot, mold, etc. I also work with builders on new buildings to assist in the sequencing and selection of products to prevent moisture intrusion, promote long-term building performance, ie., concrete curing, roof flashing, window and door installation, moisture barriers, basement waterproofing, etc.

"Buyers Beware – Total Waste of Money We purchased the premium home warranty package through Home Warranty Inc (homewarrantyinc.com) when we bought our home in October 2024, including the add-on for sprinkler system coverage. As anyone familiar with North Dakota knows, sprinkler systems must be winterized in September or October to prevent freeze damage. Ours was professionally blown out as soon as we moved in. Fast forward to spring—sprinkler systems in this region typically aren’t used again until late May, after the last freeze. We hired a professional sprinkler company to perform the spring startup and inspection. They found that multiple valves weren’t working properly. I filed a claim with the home warranty company immediately. Despite having the coverage, they denied the claim, saying it was a "pre-existing condition." That’s absolutely ridiculous, considering the system was winterized upon move-in and wasn’t even operational until months later. To make matters worse, this company has no partnered service providers in our town. You're expected to find your own technician, and good luck finding one who’s willing to work with them. Even if you do, you're likely stuck paying a significant amount out of pocket if anything needs to be replaced. This company is a complete scam. They take your money and leave you high and dry when it actually matters. I would never recommend them to anyone."

Home Warranties questions, answered by experts

Many water heaters come with warranties provided by the manufacturer or retailer. It’s important to understand how your water heater warranty works, so you know what is covered and what isn’t. Water heaters last, on average, between eight and 15 years, so if the warranty offered isn’t long enough for your comfort, you can choose to look into and purchase an extended warranty.

The standard HVAC warranty is around five years. Still, many brands offer an extension to 10 years if you register the product within a specific timeframe, typically 60 to 90 days post-purchase or HVAC installation. Over the past decade, warranty periods have substantially increased, shifting from 3-5 years in the 90s to the now-prevalent 10+ year warranties. Both warranty types cover parts failing due to manufacturer defects, incurring no additional costs. Some manufacturers provide extended warranties surpassing the usual 15- to 20-year window, though these often involve extra fees.

It’s easy to confuse home warranties with homeowners insurance, but they aren’t the same thing. The key difference is that warranties protect your appliances and systems, but insurance guards your house against disasters like fires and storms. Keep in mind that warranties may not cover repairs if the issue was caused by a DIY job gone wrong.

It depends on the specifics of your warranty. The motor is likely not covered if you’re working with a limited warranty. The same goes for other components like the compressor and evaporator coil. Some extended warranties will cover the blower and fan motor, so read the fine print before signing up. Additionally, the manufacturer may offer a warranty for the parts, including the motor, though there’s likely to be a strict time limit for this coverage.

In most cases, installing solar panels will not void your roof warranty. To keep roof warranties intact, check your written warranty or call the manufacturer to ask about clauses regarding roof penetrations. You can also protect yourself by getting written approval or a modified warranty that specifically allows the solar installation type you’re planning. Then, hire a professional solar installer that follows roofing manufacturer instructions and protects the roof during installation.
