"I contacted Plunger Plumber to replace an old outdoor faucet that had been leaking. Joe came out, took a look at the problem, and explained the type of faucet he'd replace it with. We also talked about replacing the old valves underneath the kitchen sink. He quoted a price I felt was reasonable and then he got to work. I was very pleased with Joe's knowledge and the way he explained things to me, as well as with his workmanship. I'd call this company again in the future."

"Kevan was very professional, honest and communicated clearly! He listened to my drainage problems I was having and did a thorough inspection to find the problem out. He came up with a scope of work that needed done to fix the problem correctly. His pricing was very reasonable and the problem was correct. I have not had any drainage problems since he was out and did the work! I will definitely recommend him to all my family members and friends."

"Brandon and Crew (2) were very hard working tackling this huge project. Digging to the foundation, redoing drain tile, sealing and coring walls was all done with quality materials. Brandon explained the process clearly as it progressed. Kept me informed on each day's plan. The clay was rock hard, and much of the job had to be hand dug, but the guys were amazing getting through it. This work is messy and can be brutal on the landscape, but Hart left my place looking better than it started. I made a special request that they save seven, 8 ft tall Burning Bushes and replant. Brandon was very accommodating in staging them elsewhere on the property during the 2 weeks of waterproofing, and then prepping their return to the area. Landscaping was completed with attractive River Rock. We are dry, and the landscaping looks fantastic !!! Great Job !!! (with Lifetime Warranty)"

"Excellent company. Actually showed up the same day I called when two of the largest companies in town scheduled me weeks out. Who wants to wait weeks when you have water coming into your basement?? They were knowledgeable and professional and helped me think through the right plan for our budget. They got there when they said they would actually finished early both days. The workers were professional and very neat. You wouldn't have even known they were digging in basement after they were finished. I highly recommend."

Wells and Pumps questions, answered by experts

Although air in your water lines won’t affect the overall quality of your water, it will lead to problems with your well water system if not addressed. Over time, too much air in your water lines can create blockages in your pipes, cause insufficient water flow to your taps and appliances, loosen pipes, and potentially damage important components of your well including your well pump and pressure tank.

Here are some signs of a bad well pump that a pro should look at:

  • If your well pump isn’t pumping water, you could have a leak or malfunctioning pump on your hands.

  • If your water pump runs nonstop, there might be a leak or problem with the pressure tank, which can cause the pump to fail.

  • Low water pressure can happen because of your pressure tank, low-water levels, or a wrong-sized pump.

  • Dirt or sediment in your water can be a problem with a powerful pump, damaged pump filter, or the pump’s location.

Yes, a bigger well pump can increase water pressure—up to a point. If you currently have a well pump of 8 GPM, you might notice a pressure boost when you go up to 10 GPM. However, overshooting significantly (going up to 15 GPM for an 8 GPM home) can strain your well system and result in things like burst pipes that can decrease your water pressure and make for costly repairs.

Normally, when your well pump turns on or off, you’ll hear a small click. This isn’t anything to worry about, but it can be a problem if it’s clicking continuously. This can indicate that the well pump is short cycling—the pump continuously turns on and off.

This can wear out the motor and provide uneven water flow. If this happens, you may need to get it looked at by a well pump professional to see if you need to repair the switch or pump.

If you have a well-related issue, such as your well water stopping, you should hire a local water well contractor or a well and pump repair professional. These specialists handle all aspects of wells, including the pump, tank, and other outdoor water pumping equipment. They can inspect your system, recommend and perform repairs, and even coordinate a water quality test if needed. While plumbers are experts in indoor plumbing, they may not have the specialized experience with residential wells that a dedicated well contractor does.
